Ayya is a 2005 Indian Kannada film directed by Om Prakash Rao, starring Darshan and Rakshitha. [1] Darshan plays the role of a brave police officer prepared to go to any lengths to control crime in the city. The background music and soundtrack have been scored by V. Ravichandran. Despite being an unofficial remake of Saamy , the director had revealed that he had copied scenes from nine other movies including the Tamil movie Madhurey . [2] [3]

The music was composed by actor V. Ravichandran collaborating with Om Prakash Rao for the second time after Sahukara (2004) (other than acting) and his first collaboration with Darshan.

A critic from Rediff.com wrote that "Over all, Ayya is what they call a timepass movie". [5]

Legacy

The dialogue "Naan convent alli odi police agiddalla. Corporation school alli odi police aagiddu" (Means, "I have not become a police officer by studying in the convent, I am a police officer who studied in corporation school"), became popular in Karnataka.

Hemanth Kumar, better known by his stage name Darshan Thoogudeepa or simply Darshan, is an Indian actor, film producer and distributor who works predominantly in Kannada films. In 2017, he was the highest paid actor in Kannada cinema. Darshan established the production house Thoogudeepa Productions in 2006. Its first production was Jothe Jotheyali, with Darshan in a special appearance. His performances in Anatharu (2007) and Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (2012) won him praise from critics; his performance in the latter as the 19th-century warrior Sangolli Rayanna won him the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor.

V. Harikrishna is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer, playback singer and film producer. He has mainly scored music for Kannada films. After his stint as a programmer and assistant musician, Harikrishna made his debut as an independent composer in actor Darshan's first production venture Jothe Jotheyali in 2006. Since then, he has been scoring for majority of Darshan's films besides working for many other leading production houses. He owns an audio company called "D-Beats" established in 2013 and produces music under his own company starting from the film Bulbul (2013). He has turned into a director with the 2019 Kannada film 'Yajamana'.

Power is a 2014 Indian masala film directed by K. Madesh and features Puneeth Rajkumar and Trisha in lead roles, alongside Prabhu, Kelly Dorjee, Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila in supporting roles. It is a remake of the 2011 Telugu film Dookudu which itself was inspired by the 2003 German tragicomedy film Good Bye, Lenin!.
