The Azarakhsh (post-altitude air defense system), developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a short-range air defense system capable of continuously conducting operations. It is equipped with an advanced 3D radar system and advanced searchers and optical search systems. This versatile defense system can be installed on various types of vehicles and is capable of swiftly neutralizing the intended targets. It can be utilized on both fixed and mobile platforms. The lightning radar detection range of this system spans 50 km, while the optical detector operates within a range of 25 km. As per Masoud Zavarei, an assistant at the Defense Industries Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Iranian system is capable of linking to the air defense network, eliminating a wide range of aerial threats including helicopters and drones, and functioning effectively in diverse weather conditions day and night. It has been specifically designed to address potential threats. [1] [2] [3] [4]

The Iranian Telar system, equipped with electro-optical television and infrared imaging systems, is designed for detection and identification. To detect targets beyond the range of the electro-optical systems, a 360-degree detection radar is utilized to provide the crew with information regarding the direction, distance, and speed of the targets before they come within range of the missile engagement. Additionally, the system is armed with 4 Azarakhsh missiles (Iranian Sidewinder) and a thermal detonator to engage low-flying targets effectively. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

The Tor is an all-weather, low-to medium-altitude, short-range surface-to-air missile system designed for destroying airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and short-range ballistic threats (anti-munitions). Originally developed by the Soviet Union under the GRAU designation 9K330 Tor, the system is commonly known by its NATO reporting name, SA-15 "Gauntlet". A navalized variant was developed under the name 3K95 "Kinzhal", also known as the SA-N-9 "Gauntlet". Tor was designed to shoot down guided weapons like the AGM-86 ALCM and BGM-34 day and night, in bad weather and jamming situations. Tor can detect targets while on the move. The Khordad 15 is an Iranian designed and built surface-to-air missile (SAM) system. The system was unveiled to the public on 9 June 2019 in an address made by Iranian Defence Minister Amir Hatami in Tehran, Iran. The system was developed by the Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO). It has the capability to detect and intercept fighter jets, stealth targets, unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) and cruise missiles. It operates in conjunction with Sayyad-3 missiles. The surface-to-air missile system was developed in order to counter missiles and other aerial threats presented by the presence of extra-regional forces at military bases in countries around Iran. It was unveiled amid escalating tensions with the United States and Europe's failing attempts at upholding its commitments to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
