Badminton at the 2009 East Asian Games was held at Hong Kong in the month of December. [1] Competitions for five individual disciplines as well as for Men's and Women's team competitions was conducted. [2] China stood first in the tally by winning three out of seven gold medals while Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Macau and Hong Kong won one gold medals respectively. [3] [4]

The 2009 East Asian Games, officially known as the V East Asian Games, was an international multi-sport event that hosted by Hong Kong, between 5 December and 13 December 2009. China dominated by winning six out of seven possible gold medals while Chinese Taipei won a gold medal in Men's doubles event.
