The champions of the last mixed team event, Chinese Taipei retained their title as champions of the mixed team event after beating hosts China 3−2 in the final. [1]

The 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 31st edition of the Thomas Cup and the 28th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament were played at Ceres Arena in Aarhus, Denmark. The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region began in November 2021 and concluded in February 2023. The process determined the six teams that would join the automatically qualified co-hosts the Philippines and Japan at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The 2021 Sudirman Cup was the 17th edition of the Sudirman Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the mixed national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF), since its inception in 1989. The tournament was played in Vantaa, Finland, between 26 September and 3 October 2021. China were the defending champions. They successfully defended their title, lifting the trophy for a record-extending 12th time.

Artistic gymnastics was contested at the 2021 Summer World University Games from July 31 to August 4, 2023 and was held at the Dong'an Lake Arena in Chengdu, China. Rhythmic gymnastics was contested from July 29 to 31 and was held at the Chengdu Sport University Gymnasium in Chengdu.
