Banda do Mar is the eponymous debut album of Luso-Brazilian band Banda do Mar, released for digital download on August 5, 2014 under the Sony Music label. [1] The album's physical version was released on 5 September 2014. [2]

The vinyl edition was released as a blue vinyl pressing through the magazine NOIZE (first vinyl discs subscription service in Latin America, and second vinyl manufacturer behind only Brazil Polysom), including in the vinyl pressing is a magazine issue that talks about the debut album. [3]

It was voted the fourth best national disc of 2014 by Rolling Stone Brazil. [4] In 2015, it was nominated for the 16th Latin Grammy Awards in the Best Brazilian Rock Album category, with the track "Mais Ninguém" being nominated for the Best Brazilian Song category. [5]

Maria Luiza de Arruda Botelho Pereira de Magalhães is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and musician. Mallu first came to prominence through her MySpace page, becoming known for her own songs and those of renowned artists. She found herself gracing the covers of major newspapers such as Folha de S. Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo and Jornal do Brasil, and was featured in Rolling Stone, Istoé, Época among others. In the first two years of career, she became the subject of countless blogs, packed shows, attracted critical attention, and had more than 4 million hits on her MySpace page. In 2008 she released her first eponymous album and in 2009 she released her second album, also self-titled. In 2013 she formed Banda do Mar, along with her husband Marcelo Camelo, and the Portuguese drummer Fred Ferreira. Their first album was released in August 2014. Mallu has a daughter, Luísa, born December 28, 2015.

2009 MTV Video Music Brazil

The 2009 MTV Video Music Brazil was hosted by Marcelo Adnet and took place at the Credicard Hall. It awarded the best in Brazilian music, popular culture and internet culture in the year of 2009. Despite being a Brazilian awards show, the 2009 VMB included live performances by American rapper Ja Rule and Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand, who were also nominated in the Best International Act category. Hamilton de Holanda is a Brazilian bandolinist known for his mixture of choro and contemporary jazz, and for his instrumental virtuosity.
