Battle Autumn '22 was a professional wrestling event produced by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). It took place on November 5, 2022 in Osaka, Japan at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium.
Battle Autumn featured the return of Shota Umino, who returned after Will Ospreay called out any NJPW wrestler, after the successful defense of his IWGP United States Championship against Tetsuya Naito.
Battle Autumn featured nine professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in the scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches. [2]

David Stephen Finlay III is a German-born Irish-American professional wrestler who performs under the ring name David Finlay. He is signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and is the seventh and current leader of Bullet Club.
Alipate Aloisio Leone, better known by his ring name Tama Tonga, is a Tongan-American professional wrestler. He is best known for his tenure with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) from 2010 to 2024, where he was a founding member of Bullet Club alongside Bad Luck Fale, Karl Anderson and Prince Devitt as well as being a founding member of Guerrillas of Destiny (G.O.D.) alongside his brother Tanga Loa.

It was the 25th January 4 Tokyo Dome Show, which is NJPW's biggest annual event and has been called "the largest wrestling show in the world outside of the United States" and the "Japanese equivalent to the Super Bowl". The Guerrillas of Destiny, sometimes shortened to G.O.D., is a professional wrestling stable which consists of Tanga Loa, and Hikuleo, alongside El Phantasmo and their manager Jado. The stable originally featured Loa's Tongan-American brother Tama Tonga. Tonga and Loa originally began wrestling together in 2008 under the team name Sons of Tonga, a reference to their father, professional wrestler Tonga Fifita. After a seven-year break, the team reunited in March 2016, when Loa joined Tonga in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where they are a record seven-time IWGP Tag Team Champions. Tonga then left NJPW, leaving Loa as the sole founding member.

He is currently wrestling for the Japanese promotion New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and the American promotion Impact Wrestling under the ring name Hikuleo, he is a former Strong Openweight Champion and is a part of the Guerrillas of Destiny stable.

This was the first Wrestle Kingdom event to feature Hiroshi Tanahashi as the new president of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. This was the first Wrestle Kingdom since Wrestle Kingdom 13 to have a one-night format, as the previous Wrestle Kingdoms had been held across multiple nights in a row.
