Stars is a Canadian indie pop/rock band based in Montreal, Quebec. Since forming in 2000, they have released nine albums and a number of EPs. Their music has been nominated for two Juno Awards and two Polaris Music Prizes.
CocoRosie is an American musical group formed in 2003 by sisters Sierra Rose "Rosie" and Bianca Leilani "Coco" Casady. The group's music has been described as folktronica, freak folk and "New Weird America" and incorporates elements of pop, blues, opera, electronica, avant-garde, and hip hop. The Defog is a Philadelphia-based indie rock band. Formed in 1997, The Defog consists of Charles Stieg (songwriting/guitar/vocals/engineer/production), Nick Schuenemann (songwriting/bass/organs), Jeff Hurtado (songwriting/piano/keyboard) and Zach Wirjosemito (songwriting/drums/sampler). The band's sound is made up of both electric and electronic instruments, ranging from Wurlitzer electric piano and Moog synthesizer to Samplers and computer-driven loops and effects.

St. Jude is the debut studio album by English indie rock band the Courteeners, released on 7 April 2008 by Polydor Records. There is also a special edition album which includes a second disc of acoustic versions of songs which feature on the actual album. Although the album was released to mixed reviews from critics, it has become a somewhat cult success though many fans are more favorable to the versions of songs seen on Here Come the Young Men EP and various other demos. In support of the album the band embarked on a European tour.
"God Has a Voice, She Speaks Through Me" is a single by American music group CocoRosie, released by Touch and Go Records on May 13, 2008. Touch and Go initially produced 3,000 pieces on vinyl, which included an untitled B-side track consisting of noises and distorted singing. On July 8, 2008, the label began releasing 7" picture disc versions of the single. Since 2012, the single has been sold only on digital platforms.

The album is described by music webzine The Line of Best Fit as a freak folk album in which "the tracks all share a strong backbone of hip hop and afro-beat".
Hopelessness is the debut solo album by British-American artist Anohni, released on 6 May 2016 on Secretly Canadian, Rough Trade, and Hostess. Featuring co-production by Hudson Mohawke and Oneohtrix Point Never, the album departs from the chamber pop style of Anohni's previous work with Antony and the Johnsons, instead exploring an electronic sound and engaging directly with political and environmental themes in the form of protest songs.
