Becchara Palmer (born 18 June 1988) is an Australian female beach volleyball player. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the beach volleyball women's tournament.
Palmer was born in Adelaide, and is from South Australia. [1] As of 2019 [update] , she lives in Sydney. [2]
Palmer is 182 centimetres (6 ft 0 in) tall and weighs 67 kilograms (148 lb). [3]
Palmer is a beach volleyball player. She started competing in beach volleyball in 2005, and retired in 2021. In 2006, she won the Junior World Champion in Bermunda with her first partner, Alice Rohkamper.
In 2007, Palmer switched from juniors to seniors, alternatively playing with Rohkamper and Eileen Romanowski. She became partners with Louise Bawden in 2009. [2] At the 2009 Mazury Open in Poland, she and partner Bawden finished second. The competition was part of the FIVB World Tour. She and Bawden twice won the Australian Championships, once in 2010 and again in 2011. In 2011, Palmer and Bawden were Australia's number one ranked team. [4] At the 2011 World Championships, the duo finished ninth. [2] With her partner Bawden, she finished seventeenth at the 2011 FIVB Moscow World Tour in Moscow, Russia. With her partner, she finished fourth at the 2011 FIVB Phuket World Tour in Phuket, Thailand. She missed parts of the 2011 World Tour series because of an abdominal strain. [3]
In 2012, Bawden and Palmer played in 31 matches, winning 20 of them. This increased their world ranking to 16. [4] With her partner, she finished ninth at the 2012 FIVB Brasília World Tour in Brasília, Brazil. With her partner, she finished fifth at the 2012 FIVB Sanya World Tour in Sanya, China. With her partner, she finished seventeenth at the 2012 FIVB Shanghai World Tour in Shanghai, China. With her partner, she finished ninth at the 2012 FIVB Beijing World Tour in Beijing, China. With her partner, she finished ninth at the 2012 FIVB Rome World Tour in Rome, Italy, which secured her Olympic berth. Palmer and Bawden were selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball [1] [2] [5] in June 2012 following a selection process that was 18 months long and involved becoming one of the sixteen top ranked teams in the world. [1] [2] Going into the Olympics, her team was ranked fourteenth in the world. [2] [5] She competed at the Games as a twenty-four-year-old, where she was the youngest of Australia's female beach volleyball players. [1] [3]
On 2 June 2017, Adelaide signed Palmer to their rookie list for the 2018 AFL Women's season. [6] She was delisted by Adelaide at the end of the 2018 season. [7]

Laura Ludwig-Bowes is a German professional beach volleyball player, playing as a defender. Previously forming a pair with compatriot Kira Walkenhorst, she represents Hamburger SV and has won four European championships. She won the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She added another medal, Gold, at the 2016 World Tour Finals in Toronto. In 2017, she and Walkenhorst won the World Championship in Vienna.

Xue Chen is a Chinese beach volleyball player, measuring 191 centimetres in height. Her hometown is Fuzhou, but she trains in Sanya, Hainan. She has also trained in California under coach Dane Selznick. She competed at the 2020 Olympics with X. Wang in Tokyo held in 2021.
April Elizabeth Ross is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Jennifer Kessy, a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Kerri Walsh Jennings, and a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics with Alix Klineman. Ross and Kessy were also the 2009 Beach Volleyball World Champions.
Giulia Momoli is an Italian beach volleyball player. She and Daniela Gioria were Italian Champions in 2007, and they are currently the second best Italian couple in the FIVB World Ranking with the 20th position. Since 2006, Momoli has been constantly involved in the World Tour and with 72 career presences, 229 international matches and 18,573 points played she is Italy's most active beach volleyball player. Together with Gioria, she was trying to qualify for London 2012 Olympics.
Summer Ross is an American beach volleyball player. She was the FIVB 2010 Youth Under-19 and Junior Under-21 world champion, the only player to win both titles in the same year and was named 2010 USA Volleyball Beach Female Athlete of the Year. As of 2018, her partner is Sara Hughes.
Alison Conte Cerutti is a Brazilian beach volleyball player. He plays as a blocker. In 2011, along with Emanuel Rego he won the Swatch FIVB World Tour in Prague, Czech Republic. and the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal at the 2015 World Championships in Netherlands. and the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio alongside teammate Bruno Schmidt. In 2019, Alison partnered with Álvaro Morais Filho. The team won their first gold medal at the FIVB Kuala Lumpur event. The duo also competed in the Tokyo 2020 journey. Since 2021 Alison has been playing with Guto Carvalhaes.
Louise Bawden is an Australian volleyball and beach volleyball player. She represented Australia at the 2000 Summer Olympics in indoor volleyball, finishing in 9th. She was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball, but she and team-mate Becchara Palmer did not qualify from the pool stage.
Marta Menegatti is an Italian beach volleyball player who plays as a left-side defender with her partner Viktoria Orsi Toth. With former teammate Greta Cicolari, she achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 4 in August 2012. Her career highlights include two gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals on the FIVB World Tour. She is also the 2011 European champion and the 2013 Mediterranean Games champion, both achieved with Cicolari. Menegatti represented Italy at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing fifth and ninth respectively.
Bruno Oscar Schmidt is a Brazilian beach volleyball player. He plays as a right-side defender. Bruno is the nephew of the former Brazilian basketball player Oscar Schmidt and of the TV news announcer Tadeu Schmidt. In 2010, he was named the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Most Improved Player. He was also named the Best Defensive Player in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Schmidt won the gold medal at the 2015 World Championships with his teammate Alison Cerutti in the Netherlands. He won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics with Alison Cerutti.
Sarah Lindsey Pavan is a Canadian beach volleyball and former indoor volleyball player. She was part of the Canada women's national volleyball team at the 2010 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Japan. With Melissa Humana-Paredes she won the women's gold medal at the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships.
Taliqua Clancy is an Australian volleyball and beach volleyball player who represented Australia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball, partnered with Louise Bawden. She is the first Indigenous Australian volleyball player to represent Australia at the Olympics. Clancy plays as a left-side blocker.
Mariafe Artacho del Solar is an Australian beach volleyball player. She represented Australia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2021. Artacho del Solar plays as a right-side defender. According to the Women's FIVB World Rankings, she and partner Taliqua Clancy are ranked 5th as of 21 January 2020.
Nina Betschart is a Swiss professional beach volleyball player who plays as a right side defender with her partner Tanja Hüberli. She is a two-time European Champion, winning the title in 2021 and 2023, and the silver medallist at the 2018 and 2022 European Championships. With her former partner Nicole Eiholzer, she won the gold medal at the first ever European Games in 2015. Alongside Hüberli, Betschart has won combined total of 1 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals on FIVB World Tour and its successor Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Betschart / Hüberli team represented Switzerland at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they finished in ninth place and played a pivotal role at their country's triumph in the women's event of the inaugural CEV Beach Volleyball Nations Cup in 2022. They achieved a career-high World ranking of No. 2 in November 2021.
Sara Elizabeth Hughes is an American beach volleyball player. With teammate Kelly Cheng, she achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 2 in August 2023. Hughes has won six tournaments on the AVP Pro Tour and seven gold medals, one silver medal, and three bronze medals on the FIVB World Tour/Pro Beach Tour.
Sarah Marie Sponcil is an American beach volleyball player. Sarah competed for the USA Volleyball Beach National Team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Sarah and partner Kelly Claes tied for 9th in their debut Olympics. At 24 and 25, Sponcil and Claes, respectively, were the youngest beach volleyball team to represent the USA since its inception as an Olympic sport in 1996.
