Ben Long (born 21 August 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Long was born in Darwin, Northern Territory [1] into a family of Indigenous Australian descent (Anmatjerre, Malak-Malak & Tiwi). [2] As a member of the Rioli-Long family he shares numerous relations with other notable footballers including dual Essendon premiership player and 1993 Norm Smith Medallist Michael Long (uncle), four-time Hawthorn premiership player and 2015 Norm Smith Medallist Cyril Rioli (cousin), three-time Richmond premiership player Daniel Rioli (nephew), 2018 West Coast premiership player Junior Rioli (cousin) and dual Adelaide AFLW premiership player Danielle Ponter (cousin). [3] [4] Ben grew up playing junior football for St Mary's in the NTFL [5] and in 2014, at the age of 16, he accepted a scholarship to attend Melbourne Grammar. [6] In 2016, he played in Footscray's VFL premiership winning team. [7]
Long was drafted by the St Kilda Football Club with their first selection and twenty-fifth overall in the 2016 national draft. [8] He made his debut in the fourteen point win against Collingwood at Etihad Stadium in round four of the 2017 season. [9] Long was nominated for the AFL Rising Star for his performance in the draw against Greater Western Sydney at Etihad Stadium in round five of the 2018 AFL season, during which he recorded fifteen disposals, eight tackles, four marks and a goal. [10] In the final game of St Kilda's 2022 season, Long compiled a career-best performance against the Sydney Swans which included 27 disposals, 17 marks, 13 intercepts and one goal with a disposal efficiency of 96 per cent on his 25th birthday. [11]
Long subsequently requested a trade to Gold Coast, and was traded on 5 October 2022. [12]

Daniel Rioli is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is a three-time premiership player with the club and in 2017 he received the award for the AFL's Goal of the Year.
Karen "Paxy" Paxman is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). A defender, 1.70 metres (5.6 ft) tall, Paxman plays primarily on the half-back line with the ability to push into the midfield. She first played football at sixteen years of age and won a premiership and league best and fairest in her first year. She played in the premier division of the Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL) from the 2008 season and won three VWFL premierships with St Albans and Darebin, in addition to a VFL Women's premiership with Darebin. Her accolades in football include three league best and fairests, state representation on four occasions, best-on-ground in a grand final, and five-time AFLW All-Australian honours.
Daniel Butler is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played 45 matches over a five-year tenure at Richmond, after being drafted by the club in the fourth round of the 2014 AFL national draft. He made his debut in round 1 of the 2017 season and became an AFL premiership player that same year. In 2019 he won a VFL premiership while playing for Richmond's reserves side. At the end of the 2019 season he was traded to St Kilda in exchange for a late third-round draft selection. In his first year at St Kilda, he led the club's goalkicking tally, placed second in the best and fairest and was nominated to the extended All-Australian squad.
Mitchell Hannan is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL), having been initially drafted to the Melbourne Football Club. A forward, 1.90 metres tall and weighing 87 kilograms (192 lb), Hannan has the ability to play as a forward and in the midfield. After failing to play in the TAC Cup as a junior, he joined the St Bernard's Football Club in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) where he won a premiership and the best on ground in the 2015 VAFA Grand Final. The next year, he played with Footscray in the Victorian Football League (VFL) where he won his second premiership in as many years. His performances in the VAFA and VFL saw him recruited by the Melbourne Football Club in the 2016 AFL draft and he made his debut in the opening round of the 2017 season. He was a delisted at the end of the 2023 AFL Season.
Nicola Stevens is an Australian rules footballer playing for St Kilda in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for Collingwood in 2017 and for Carlton in 2018–2022. Stevens was selected in the inaugural AFL Women's All-Australian team and was the inaugural Collingwood best and fairest winner during her only season with the Magpies in 2017.

In 2016, Birch switched from netball to Australian rules football and was recruited by the Western Bulldogs as a rookie after having only played football for three months for the Darebin Falcons in the VFL Women's.
Alison Brown is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Melbourne in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She was recruited by Carlton as a free agent following the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in Round 1, 2017, in the club and the league's inaugural match at Ikon Park against Collingwood. Brown finished 2017 having played in all seven possible matches with Carlton. She was subsequently delisted at season's end. On 29 January 2019, Brown was announced as the first AFLW signing for the St Kilda Football Club Women's Team, who officially entered the AFL Women's competition in 2020. In March 2021, St Kilda announced they delisted Brown after playing 11 matches for the club. In the 2021 AFL Women's draft, Melbourne drafted her with the 45th pick after she played 12 games for Casey Demons in the VFL Women's. She was educated at Caulfield Grammar School. In December 2022, Brown was delisted by Melbourne.
Matilda Lucas-Rodd is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Hawthorn Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). They previously played for the Carlton Football Club from 2017 to 2019 and the St Kilda Football Club from 2020 to 2022 (S6). Jack Higgins is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played 43 games over three seasons at Richmond. As a junior, Higgins was named All-Australian at the 2017 AFL Under-18 Championships and won the Morrish Medal as the best player in the Victorian junior state league, the TAC Cup. He was drafted by Richmond with the last pick of the first round in the 2017 AFL national draft and made his debut for the club in Round 3 of the 2018 season. In his debut season, he earned the AFL Goal of the Year award and placed fourth in the league Rising Star award. Higgins missed a significant part of the 2019 season after undergoing surgery for a brain condition. In the 2020/21 off-season, he was traded to St Kilda in a multipiece deal that principally involved a second-round draft pick.
