Michael David Rann,,is an Australian former politician who was the 44th premier of South Australia from 2002 to 2011. He was later Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 2013 to 2014,and Australian ambassador to Italy,Albania,Libya and San Marino from 2014 to 2016.

Elected as a Nationals member of the Western Australian Legislative Council at the 2021 Western Australian state election,he resigned from the party on 3 December 2021 after being charged with child sex offences,and was ultimately disqualified on 28 August 2023 after being convicted. Hayward was the first person since John Marquis Hopkins in 1910 to be removed in this way.
