Elizabeth J. "Beth" Kerttula (born January 8,1956) is a Democratic former member of the Alaska House of Representatives,representing the 3rd District from 1998 to her resignation at the start of the legislative session in 2014. Sam Kito III was appointed to serve the remainder of her term. She served as the House Minority Leader from 2006 until her resignation,when she was succeeded by Chris Tuck. She resigned on the first day of the 2014 legislative session to accept a fellowship at the Center for Ocean Solutions at Stanford University,her alma mater. She was appointed as Director of the National Oceans Council,under President Barack Obama,on June 5,2014. She was the daughter of Joyce and state senator Jalmar M. Kerttula. Her father represented the Matanuska-Susitna Valley (and at one point,also the Copper River valley and Valdez) in the Alaska legislature for most of the period between 1961 and 1995 and served as the Senate President. The 24th Alaska State Legislature served during 2005 and 2006. 9 members of the Alaska Senate were elected on November 5,2002. The remaining senators and all members of the Alaska House of Representatives were elected on November 2,2004.
The Nevada Senate is the upper house of the Nevada Legislature,the state legislature of U.S. state of Nevada,the lower house being the Nevada Assembly. It currently (2012–2021) consists of 21 members from single-member districts. In the previous redistricting (2002–2011) there were 19 districts,two of which were multimember. Since 2012,there have been 21 districts,each formed by combining two neighboring state assembly districts. Each State Senator represented approximately 128,598 as of the 2010 United States Census. Article Four of the Constitution of Nevada sets that State Senators serve staggered four-year terms.
Kim Steven Elton is a journalist,commercial fisherman,government official and Democratic politician in the U.S. state of Alaska. Elton represented Juneau in the Alaska House of Representatives for two terms,from 1995 to 1999. In 1998,he was elected to the Alaska Senate,serving until his resignation in early 2009 to accept appointment as director of Alaska Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior by President Barack Obama. Prior to holding elected office,Elton was executive director of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute and a salmon troller engaged in commercial fishing.
Dennis William Egan was an American politician who was a member of the Alaska Senate representing Juneau from April 19,2009,until January 15,2019. A member of the Democratic Party,he previously served as the Mayor of Juneau from February 13,1995,to October 3,2000,and was a member of the local assembly prior to that. Outside of politics,he was known for his work as a radio broadcaster,most notably for KINY,and was inducted to the Alaskan Broadcaster Association's Hall of Fame in 2001.

In January 2019,Lyman Hoffman became the longest-serving member in the history of the Alaska Legislature,surpassing Kerttula's tenure.
Catherine Norah "Cathy" Muñoz is an American politician who was a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives,who from 2009 to 2017 represented the 34th District. She served as Co-Chair of the Community and Regional Affairs Committee,Vice-Chair of the Education Committee,and served two terms on the House Finance Committee. Her father served in the Alaska House and Senate,her grandfather as the mayor of Douglas,Alaska and in the Territorial and State Senates,and her grandmother served in the Territorial House.
Nancy Dahlstrom is an American politician who is serving as the 15th lieutenant governor of Alaska,since December 2022. She previously served as a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives,representing the 18th and 13th districts. She was appointed to the House at the beginning of the legislative session in 2003 when the representative-elect,Lisa Murkowski,was appointed to her father's U.S. Senate seat. Dahlstrom resigned her House seat to take a position in the administration of Governor Sean Parnell,then resigned from that position after less than a month when constitutional issues arose.
