Bimal Bharali is a former Indian cricketer. He played 27 first-class matches for Assam and four for East Zone from 1969 to 1981. [1] He captained Assam in most of their matches from 1976 to 1981. [2]
A middle-order batsman,Bharali's highest score was 141 in a Ranji Trophy match against Orissa in 1976–77. [3] His other first-class century was also against Orissa,in 1980–81,when he went to the wicket at 40 for 3 and scored 119 out of a team total of 245. [4] In 1976–77,playing for East Zone against the touring MCC,he saved the match almost single-handed by batting for almost the entire 54-over second innings and finishing on 45 not out. [5] [6]
Bharali served as a selector for Assam for some years before resigning in protest in 2005 when the Assam Cricket Association failed to comply with its own regulations when appointing a coach. [7]

Majid Jahangir Khan,nicknamed "Majestic Khan" by the British press,is a former cricketer,batsman and captain of the Pakistan national cricket team. In his heyday,he was considered to be one of the best batsmen in the world. Khan has a claim as the best ever opening batsman against express pace,averaging over 50 each in test matches and World Cups when opening against the fearsome pace attacks of the 1970s West Indies and Australia,with all but 2 of these matches played away from home. In his first class cricket career spanning 18 years,from 1961 to 1985,Majid Khan played in 63 Test matches for Pakistan,scoring 3,931 runs with 8 centuries,scored over 27,000 first-class runs and made 73 first-class centuries,with 128 fifties. Majid played his last Test for Pakistan in January 1983 against India at Gaddafi Stadium,Lahore and his last One Day International (ODI) was in July 1982 against England at Old Trafford,Manchester.
Syed Saba Karim is a former Indian cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper. Karim has also served in the corporate sector. He has worked in the Corporate Communications Division of TISCO.
Yashpal Sharma was an Indian international cricketer. He was an explosive middle order batsman who played during the 1970s and 80s. He was a member of the India team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. He represented India in 37 Tests and 42 One Day Internationals (ODIs) between 1978 and 1985. His nephew Chetan Sharma was also a cricketer. He was fondly nicknamed the Crisis Man for India.
James Donald Higgs is a former Australian leg spinner who played in 22 Test matches between 1978 and 1981. In the words of Gideon Haigh "Jim Higgs was Australia's best legspinner between Richie Benaud and Warne. His misfortune was to play at a time when wrist-spin was nearly extinct,thought to be the preserve only of the eccentric and the profligate,and so to find selectors and captains with little empathy with his guiles."
Martin Francis Kent is a former Australian cricketer who played in three Test matches and five One Day Internationals in 1981.

Robert Samuel Langer was an Australian cricketer who played for Western Australia in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a left-handed middle order batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler. Langer's first-class career extended from 1973–1974 until 1981–1982. He made 2,756 first-class runs in 44 matches at an average of 43.06 with a highest score of 150 not out. In 15 limited overs matches,his best score was 99 not out in a total of 338 runs at 28.16 average. Langer scored five first-class hundreds and 18 half-centuries during his career.
Syed Ashraful Haque is a former Bangladeshi cricketer. He was the architect of Bangladesh's first ever ICC Trophy victory,over Fiji in May 1979. His 7/23 from 9.1 overs completely destroyed the Fiji middle order,leading Bangladesh to a 22 run win. He was also a member of the Bangladesh side that played in the historic match at Dhaka against the MCC in January 1977. A right hand batsman and an off break bowler,Ashraf remained an integral part of the national side until his retirement in 1981–82 season.
