Birmingham is an unincorporated community in eastern Florence Township, Erie County, Ohio, United States. [1] It is part of the Sandusky Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located at the intersection of State Routes 60 and 113.
Birmingham was the original site of the Woollybear Festival.
The community was named after Birmingham, England, for the fact its founders hoped the town eventually would boast an industrial base as famous as the English city's. [2] A post office called Birmingham has been in operation since 1832. [3]
On March 3, 2009, fire destroyed a restaurant and the post office in the community. [4] Mail was rerouted to the post office in nearby Wakeman. [5]

As of 2023, with former anchor Dunham's Sports closing its branch there, it is a dead mall with only around 20 stores and services.

Avery is located along US Route 250 near that road's interchange with Interstate 80 and Interstate 90, the Ohio Turnpike. The area is characterized by hotels and some industry. It once had a post office, but is now included in the Milan, Ohio postal zone (44846).
Clarksfield is an unincorporated community in the northwestern portion of Clarksfield Township, Huron County, Ohio, United States. It lies along State Route 18 midway between Norwalk and Wellington, and along State Route 60 between New London and Wakeman. The Vermilion River flows northward through Clarksfield.
Bloomingville is an unincorporated community in northern Oxford Township, Erie County, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Sandusky Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bloomingville is located at the intersection of Mason Road and Patten Tract Road. The Oxford Grange Hall located where Taylor Road forks off from Mason was the center of community life for many years. The compact community consisted primarily of farmhouses clustered near the main intersection. Many of the farmhouses had working farms adjoining them or nearby. To the northeast lay an unused tract of 9,000 acres (36 km2) that had been the site of a World War II munitions factory. In 1957, NASA acquired part of this tract for its Plum Brook Station and by 1963 had acquired the rest of the tract to build additional facilities there.
The New Indian Ridge Museum, Historic Shupe Homestead, and Wildlife Preserve is a private museum and nature reserve located on Beaver Creek in Amherst, Ohio, consisting of the Shupe Homestead site. The grounds contain two additional lots of upland and lowland mature wooded forest that contain wetlands, vernal pools, and an area floodplain. The property contains numerous tree and wildflower species, several fern types, buttonbushes, pawpaw trees, native green dragon wildflowers, and about fifty different species of birds.
