Bluff City is an unincorporated community in Fayette County, Illinois, United States. [1] This community is located two miles east of Vandalia on the historic road of U.S. Route 40.
The area around this community was said to have one of the largest pre-Columbian Native American settlements. In 1949, Bluff Equipment Inc., a Case IH, Kubota, and Arctic Cat dealership, was founded, and is still located there. In addition, it is rumored that debris from the Chicago Fire of 1871 was dumped near Bluff City. Bluff City was also the home of the Okaw Valley Opry, operated by Bill and Eveyln Oliver for many years.
Council Bluffs is a city in and the county seat of Pottawattamie County, Iowa, United States. It is the most populous city in Southwest Iowa, as well as the third largest and a primary city of the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area. It is located on the east bank of the Missouri River, across from Omaha, Nebraska. Until about 1853 Council Bluffs was known as Kanesville. Kanesville was the historic starting point of the Mormon Trail. Kanesville is also the northernmost anchor town of the other emigrant trails because there was a steam-powered boat which ferried the settlers' wagons and cattle across the Missouri River. In 1869, the first transcontinental railroad to California was connected to the existing U.S. rail network at Council Bluffs.

Moss Bluff is a census-designated place (CDP) in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 12,522 at the 2020 census. Located just north of the city of Lake Charles, it is considered a suburb of that city. Moss Bluff is a burgeoning community, and is one of the communities in Calcasieu Parish besides Lake Charles and Sulphur experiencing growth. Several efforts have been made to incorporate Moss Bluff, but at the present time the community is unincorporated.

The residents of Knollwood were served by the Knollwood Fire Department until October 2018, after the trustees of the Rockland Fire Protection District ended their relationship with the department. Residents now receive fire protection from the Libertyville and Lake Forest fire departments. Police protection is provided by the Lake County Sheriff's Department.

Located along the Pacific Ocean 7 miles (11 km) south of Lincoln City, it offers public beach access, picnicking, and fishing in a setting of shore pines, sandstone bluffs, and sand. The park is fee-free.
