The Districts of Ghana are second-level administrative subdivisions of Ghana, below the level of region. There are 261 local metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies.
Bia District is a former district that was located in Western Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Juaboso-Bia District in 1988, which was created from the former Sefwi-Bibiani District Council, until the northwest part of the district was split off to create Bia District; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Juaboso-Bodi District. However, on 28 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Bia West District and Bia East District. The district assembly was located in the northwest part of Western Region and had Sefwi Essam as its capital town.
Kwahu Afram Plains North District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwahu North District in 1988, until the western part of the district was split off to create Kwahu Afram Plains South District on 19 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Kwahu Afram Plains North District. The district assembly is located in the northern part of Eastern Region and has Donkorkrom as its capital town.
Asutifi North District is one of the six districts in Ahafo Region, Ghana. The District was formerly part of the then-larger Asutifi District since 1988, until the southern part of the district was split off to create Asutifi South District on 28 June 2012. The remaining norther part is Asutifi North District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Ahafo Region and has Kenyasi as its capital town.

Denkyembour District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwaebibirem District in 1988, which was created from the former West Akim District Council. However on 6 February 2012, the southern part of the district was split off to create Denkyembour District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Kwaebibirem District, which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 15 March 2018 to become Kwaebibirem Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Eastern Region and has Akwatia as its capital town.
Kwahu Afram Plains South District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwahu North District in 1988, until the western part of the district was split off to create Kwahu Afram Plains South District on 19 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Kwahu Afram Plains North District. The district assembly is located in the northern part of Eastern Region and has Tease as its capital town.
Builsa South District is one of the fifteen districts in Upper East Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Builsa District in 1988, until the southern part of the district was split off to create Builsa South District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Builsa North District, which it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 19 December 2018 to become Builsa North Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the western part of Upper East Region and has Fumbisi as its capital town.
Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District is one of the eleven districts in Upper West Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Nadowli District in 1988; until the eastern part of the district was later split off to create Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Nadowli-Kaleo District. The district assembly is located in the western part of Upper West Region and has Issa as its capital town.

The district assembly is located in the southern part of Western North Region and has Dadieso as its capital town.
Wassa Amenfi Central District is one of the fourteen districts in Western Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Accra Metropolitan District in 1988, until a small portion of the district was split off to create Ayawaso North Municipal District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining part has been retained as Accra Metropolitan District. The municipality is located in the central part of Greater Accra Region and has Accra Newtown as its capital town.
Ga North Municipal District is one of the twenty-nine districts in Greater Accra Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Ga West District in 2004, until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Ga North Municipal District on 15 March 2018, which was supported by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2314; thus the remaining part has been retained as Ga West Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of Greater Accra Region and has Ofankor as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Aowin/Suaman District in 1988, which was created from the former Aowin-Amenfi District Council, until a small northwest part of the district was split off to create Suaman District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Aowin District, which it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 16 November 2017 to become Aowin Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southern part of Western North Region and has Enchi as its capital town.
