Anthony Tremaine Dixson [2] [3] (born August 30, 1989), known professionally as Westside Boogie (stylised as WESTSIDE BOOGIE)(formerly known as Boogie), is an American rapper and songwriter. [3] He is known for bringing real life experiences into his music. [2] His debut mixtape, Thirst 48, was released on June 24, 2014, followed by his next mixtape, The Reach which was released a year later. In 2016, he released his third mixtape Thirst 48, Pt. II and signed to Shady Records and Interscope Records in 2017. [4] His debut studio album Everythings for Sale was released on January 25, 2019. [5]

Early life

Anthony Tremaine Dixson was born on August 30, 1989 in Compton, California, where he was also raised, and was a member of the church choir. [3] His son, Darius, was born June 24, 2009, and was the catalyst for him to take music more seriously. [6] In 2010, he enrolled in recording courses at Long Beach City College, using financial aid money to purchase recording equipment. [7] He is also a single father of his son, working in part-time jobs and eventually, rapping became his full-time career. [8]

Musical career

2014–2016: Thirst 48, The Reach and Thirst 48, Pt. II

Boogie's musical career started when he joined the First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church choir [9] in 8th grade under the guidance of his mother. [3] [10] While a member of the choir, he was introduced to gangbanging and slowly began to make the transition from gospel to rap. [10] [2] On June 24, 2013, he released his debut mixtape Thirst 48, which chronicled his life and struggles. [11] [3] A year later, his debut was followed by his breakthrough mixtape The Reach, was released on June 24. [3] He signed a deal with Interscope Records in 2015. [3]

His break out single, “Oh My” was released in 2015 and produced by Jahlil Beats. [12] [13] In 2016, Boogie released Thirst 48, Pt. II via Interscope Records, [3] a continuation of his debut mixtape from 2014 that also deals with new themes such as Millennial reliance on social media. [14]

2017–present: Everythings for Sale

In October 2017, it was announced that Boogie signed to Shady Records. [11] He was featured in the digital 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards Detroit Cypher and made an appearance behind Eminem in his solo freestyle. [13] [3] His first release from Shady Records was “Violence,” a collaboration with Masego, [15] in December 2017. The release was followed up by two more songs in 2018 - “Self Destruction” in May [16] [17] and “Deja Vu” in August. [18] He has gained praise from Rihanna, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar. Boogie is currently managed by Love Renaissance (LVRN). He opened for 6lack alongside Tierra Whack [21] on 6lack's world tour. Boogie's debut album Everythings for Sale released on January 25 with melodic singles like "Rainy Days", "Silent Ride" and "Self Destruction". [5] The album includes guest appearances from Eminem, 6LACK, and JID, among others. [22]

Slim Shady EP is the debut extended play by American rapper Eminem released on December 10, 1997, through the Detroit-based record label Web Entertainment. Joell Ortiz American rapper from New York

Joell Christopher Ortiz is an American rapper and a member of the group Slaughterhouse. Ortiz grew up in the Cooper Park Houses in the East Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York, formerly signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment record label. Yelawolf American rapper from Alabama

Michael Wayne Atha, better known by his stage name Yelawolf, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, fashion designer, and business owner. Born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama, Atha embarked on his career in 2005—releasing independent solo material from then until 2010—he released one extended play (EP) and four mixtapes. It was not until 2010's Trunk Muzik EP that Yelawolf started to gain mainstream attention. The same year, Yelawolf signed a record deal with Interscope Records. Richard Colson Baker, known professionally as Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor from Cleveland, Ohio. Baker's debut album, Lace Up, was released in 2012, and was followed up with four subsequent studio releases. As an actor, Baker made his film debut in the 2014 romantic drama Beyond the Lights. He has also appeared in several other films and had a recurring role on the Showtime series Roadies in 2016.

The album includes guest appearances from 6lack, Christian Scott, Eminem, JID, and Snoh Aalegra, with production mainly coming from Keyel, Jeff Gitelman, and Dart, among others.

Trunk Muzik III is the fifth studio album by American rapper Yelawolf, released on March 29, 2019. It is his final album under Eminem's imprint Shady Records, and was released in conjunction with Interscope Records and Yelawolf's own label Slumerican. The album marks a return to an emphasis on the southern hip hop sound that was predominant in Yelawolf's music at the start of the decade, a contrast to the country-folk and hip hop fusions of his previous two albums. Demond Price, known professionally as Conway the Machine, is an American rapper from Buffalo, New York. Alongside his brother Westside Gunn and their cousin Benny the Butcher, he is part of Griselda Records.
