Janusz Kazimierz Gortat was a Polish boxer, who represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics, in 1972 and 1976. In both tournaments he won the bronze medal in the light heavyweight division after being defeated in the semifinals by the eventual winners.

The Middleweight class in the boxing competition was the third-highest weight class. Middleweights were limited to those boxers weighing a maximum of 75 kilograms (165.3 lbs). 22 boxers qualified for this category.
