Sutton Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Sutton, Braxton County, West Virginia. It encompasses 85 contributing buildings and two contributing structures covering eleven square blocks. The district includes the commercial, ecclesiastical, and civic core of the town and surrounding residential area. The district includes a number of buildings representative of popular architectural styles from the late-19th century and early-20th century including Romanesque Revival, Colonial Revival, Gothic Revival, and Greek Revival. Notable buildings include the Braxton County Courthouse (1881-1882) and Jail (1905), Sutton Bank Building (1891), Farmers Bank and Trust (1909), Bank of Sutton, Methodist Episcopal Church, South (1896), Kelly / Fisher House. Elk / Midway Hotel (1894), and Katie B. Frame Residence. The two structures are the Bridge over Old Woman Run (1892) and Bridge over Elk (1930).
Ripley Historic District is a national historic district located at Ripley, Jackson County, West Virginia. It encompasses 110 contributing buildings, one contributing site, and one contributing structure that include the commercial and civic core of the town, and surrounding residential buildings. It includes example of popular architectural styles of the late-19th and early- to mid-20th century, including Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Art Moderne, Neo-Classical Revival, Italianate and Modern. Notable buildings include the U.S. Post Office, Phillips/Pfost House, Alpine Theater, Hockenberry Store building, Jackson County Courthouse (1918-1920), the Beymer House, and the Hinzman House. Located within the district is the separately listed Clerc-Carson House.
Ravenswood "Old Town" Historic District is a national historic district located at Ravenswood, Jackson County, West Virginia. It encompasses 313 contributing buildings and two contributing structures, the Ohio River Rail Road Steel Pratt-through truss Bridge and Concrete bridge on State Route 68 over Sandy Creek. It includes the commercial and civic core of the town, and surrounding residential buildings. It includes example of popular architectural styles of the mid- to late-19th and early-20th century, including Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Italianate, Craftsman, and Bungalow. Notable buildings include the McIntosh Building, First Baptist Church, Randolph Building/Caldwell Building (1907), the Grace Episcopal Church ; Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ravenswood Community Center (1938), and McIntosh House.
The Thomas Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Thomas, Tucker County, West Virginia. It encompasses 48 contributing buildings and two contributing structures. They include the business and commercial core of Thomas. Most of the buildings in the district date from the late-19th and early-20th century in popular architectural styles, such as Italianate, Renaissance Revival, and Gothic Revival. They are primarily two and three story masonry buildings with storefronts on the first floor and housing above. Notable buildings include the Frank Calobrese Building (1902), Duncan Funeral Home Building (1899), Miners and Merchant Bank (1902), City Hall (1927), and Thomas Central Power Plant Dam (1911). Also located in the district is the separately listed Cottrill Opera House (1902).
New Martinsville Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at New Martinsville, Wetzel County, West Virginia. It encompasses 29 contributing buildings and one contributing site that include the civic and commercial core of New Martinsville. Most of the buildings in the district are two and three story masonry commercial structures dating to the late-19th and early-20th century in popular architectural styles, such as Italianate, Romanesque Revival, and Colonial Revival. Notable buildings include the New Martinsville City Building (1895), The McCaskey Building (1898), Winer's Department Store (1908), McCrory's, The Masonic Temple (1913), Theater/Palmer's Drug Store (1911), Lincoln Theatre (1920), United States Post Office (1931), Wetzel County Sheriff's residence (1897-1901), and Wetzel County Courthouse (1902).
Downtown Huntington Historic District is a national historic district located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. The original district encompassed 59 contributing buildings; the boundary increase added 53 more contributing buildings. It includes the central business district of Huntington, and includes several of its municipal and governmental buildings. It contains the majority of the historic concentration of downtown commercial buildings. Notable buildings include the Huntington City Hall, Johnson Memorial Church (c.1886/1912/1935), Trinity Episcopal Church (1882), Davis Opera House, Love Hardware Building, Reuschleins Jewelry building (1923), the Newcomb Building, the Morrison Building (1919), Keith-Albee Theater (1928), West Virginia Building, and Gideon Building. Located in the district are the separately listed Carnegie Public Library, Cabell County Courthouse, U.S. Post Office and Court House, and Campbell-Hicks House.
Hawthorne Historic District is a national historic district located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. The district encompasses 24 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in the Park Hills Subdivision No. 1. The district is composed entirely of early 20th century residences, the majority of which are Colonial Revival style.
Maple Street Historic District is a national historic district located on "Gospel Hill" at Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The district encompasses six contributing buildings, all single family residences. They are stylistically "worker's houses" of the type that are to be seen in many coal and timber company towns throughout West Virginia. They are one and two story frame dwellings with gable or hipped roofs, built about 1900.
South Church Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The district encompasses six contributing buildings, including three single family residences built between 1908 and 1918. They are representative of the Queen Anne and Bungalow styles. Each of the houses has a contributing garage on the property.

Gen. John McCausland House, also known as "Grape Hill," is a historic home located near Pliny, Mason County, West Virginia. The main house was built in 1885, and is a two-story sandstone residence. It features a full-length, one story, five bay porch with fluted Doric order columns and metal covered hip roof. The house was built by Confederate General John McCausland (1836–1927). The boundary increase expanded the listing to include 23 additional contributing buildings and 4 contributing structures and designated it a national historic district. They include a variety of farm-related outbuildings and a log house.
Jefferson Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Bluefield, Mercer County, West Virginia. The district includes 63 contributing buildings in a residential area of Bluefield known as Oakland Addition, originally platted in 1910. The buildings are primarily single-family residences with a few multiple family dwellings, and one church, the College Avenue Baptist Church. Houses are representative of popular architectural styles from the turn of the 20th century, including American Four Square, Bungalow, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival. A number of the homes were designed by architect Alex B. Mahood.
Virginian Railway Yard Historic District is a national historic district located at Princeton, Mercer County, West Virginia. The district includes 14 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing structure related to the Virginian Railway property at Princeton. Many date to the founding of the railway in 1905–1909, with others related to a physical improvements campaign in the 1920s. A number of the buildings are a vernacular interpretation of the Romanesque Revival style. They include the Locomotive Erecting Shop, transfer table pit, machine shop foundations, three water pump houses, North Repair Shop, Brick Storehouse, and Car Wheel Shop.

Most of the dwellings were built between 1901 and 1925 and are of frame construction with brick or wood facades, one- to 2+1⁄2 stories high with gable fronts. Notable buildings include the Reformation Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Also in the district are the separately listed Kern's Fort, and Hackney House.

Notable buildings include the Fairview Baptist Church (1916), Summers Residence (1990), Gay Grose House, and Hill House. Also included are the Summers Cemetery and the Morris grave site and monument.

Notable buildings and structures include the Pump Store (1933), Wheeling Stamping Plant (1932), Allied Plate Glass, Warwick China, Boury Warehouse, Ott-Heiskell Company, Edward Wagner Wholesale Grocers building (1915), the Moderne style former Greyhound Bus Station, and Main Street Bridge (1891).

The district encompasses 51 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of Rowlesburg. Most of the commercial buildings are two story, frame and masonry buildings, dating from about 1900 to 1950. Notable buildings include the St. Paul's Methodist Protestant Church (1923), St. Philomena's Roman Catholic Church, Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church (1915), Rowlesburg School, Waybright House, Weaver House, Nassif Home and Store building, Rowlesburg Area Historical Society/IOOF building (1875), and Adams and Moore Store building (1907).
Butcher Hill Historic District is a national historic district located near Beverly, Randolph County, West Virginia. It encompasses one contributing building, one contributing site, and one contributing structure. It consists of the "Butcher Hill" home, a "V"-shaped trench from the American Civil War in front of the house at the edge of a drop, and the Butcher Cemetery. The house is a two-story frame dwelling, with a hipped roof and rounded turrets in the Queen Anne style. The property was the site of a major Federal encampment, entrenchment and artillery placement during the Civil War.
