Bremen Teater is a theatre in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It seats 648 people and is used as a venue for everything from comedy shows and concerts to theatre and talks.
The building, which also contains Hotel Mercur, was completed in 1956. The building was designed by Danish architect Otto Frankild.
The Mercur Theater was opened by Aage Stentoft in 1965, who served as theatre director. It was used as a venue for touring theatre companies and made its own productions. Preben Kaas later succeeded Aage Stentoft as theatre director. [1]
In 1971 the Danish charter travel tycoon Simon Spies, who owned the building, took over the theatre. He used it as a combined cinema for erotic films and night club, screening the MGM film Pretty Maids All in a Row on his fiftieth birthday for its opening. A private elevator connected the theatre to his office on the first floor and his apartment on the sixth floor. Simon Spies gave up the theatre in 1980 and it was then used by "Det Ny Musikteater" ("The New Music Theatre") until 1984. In 1985 it changed its name to Privat Teatret ("The Private Theatre") with Niels-Bo Valbro as theatre director. He chose to close the theatre in 2007 due to economic difficulties. [2]
In 2009 the venue was revived under its current name by a group of people from the Danish entertainment industry, including Casper Christensen, Frank Hvam, Simon Kvamm and Niels Hausgaard.
The theatre has been known by its current name, Bremen Teater, since September 2009. For some time the theatre hosted the sketch show "Live fra Bremen" and the talk show "ALOHA!", which were both aired on TV2. [3]
Since the opening of the theatre the list of acknowledged Danish names on the stage has included, among others, Casper Christensen & Frank Hvam, Niels Hausgaard, Simon Kvamm, Mew, Vi Sidder Bare Her and Anders & Peter Lund Madsen. The theatre has for several years been the selected venue for established award shows and film screenings in both the movie and music industries, hosting events such as Steppeulven, Bodil Awards, GAFFA Awards and CPH:DOX. In addition, Bremen Teater has had a number of international names on the stage, such as Laurie Anderson, David Cross, Bill Burr and Henry Rollins.
The variety of events at Bremen Teater includes comedy, theatre, concerts, award shows, film screenings, parties, talks, conferences and many others. In September 2012 the theatre opened a bar called Natbar, which won the reputable Politiken "Ibyen Award 2012" for bar of the year. Natbar has since established itself as a significant part of Copenhagen night life.
Day-to-day management of the theatre was, until summer 2013, operated by Mai Manaa Kristensen, Morten Manaa Kristensen and Nynne Mee Pilgaard. Today, the managing director of Bremen Teater is Jesper Majdall and day-to-day manager is Søren Hvidt.

Kjøbenhavns Boldklub or KB is a Danish sports club based in Copenhagen. The club was founded 26 April 1876 on the grassy fields in outer Copenhagen which later became Fælledparken. Tennis has been played since 1883. The club hosted, in 1921, one of the early tennis majors: the World Covered Court Championships, won by William Laurentz that year. Today, along with the sports already mentioned, the club also has facilities for badminton, swimming and pétanque.
Casper & Mandrilaftalen, also known as Mandrilaftalen or Mandrillen, is a Danish dadaist and satirical cult television sketch show that originally aired on DR2 from March 1st, 1999, to November 19th, 1999, across two seasons, comprising a total of 67 episodes. The Mandrilaftalen troupe consisted of Danish comedians Casper Christensen, Lasse Rimmer, Lars Hjortshøj and Frank Hvam. Heavily inspired by British humor, the show became known for its eccentric characters and absurd sketches, leading to multiple TV critics comparing it To Monty Python's Flying Circus. The show is of a talk show format and is hosted by the character Casper, who is a fictionalization of and is played by the program's creator, Christensen. As the star of the show, Casper usually sits at his desk while satirizing the Danish media industry and interviewing fictional guests. Surreal nonsense is a recurrent characteristic of the show, an example being the character Broder Salsa, who folds carpets to resemble great state leaders and sorts capital cities by muesli. In the show, Casper also holds talent shows with fictional participants, presents episodes of fictional TV series and displays advertisements for fictional products. Rimmer, Hjortshøj and Hvam plays an array of various characters, and the show saw guest appearances from other Danish comedians, the British Monty Python member John Cleese, the Danish actress Susse Wold, the rapper Al Agami, among others. More than 250 different named fictional characters appear in the show, with Broder Salsa, Svenne O'Lotta and Gentleman Finn being the most popular characters according to Christensen.

Københavns Teater, often referred to as kbht,, is a self-owning organization under the Danish Ministry of Culture responsible for sponsoring and managing a number of theatres in the Greater Copenhagen area. The theaters within the organization are managed by a board that decides which venues should be offered. The members of the Board of Directors are appointed from among persons affiliated with the acting industry.
Café Teatret is a theater in Copenhagen, Denmark that was established in 1972. It is located in Skindergade. The company stages new Danish plays as well as Danish premieres of foreign plays. One season usually sees between four and eight productions.

Aalborg Teater is the main theatre in Aalborg, Denmark. Built in 1878, it was subsequently modified by Julius Petersen and was remodeled in 2000. Its address is still Jernbanegade, although the station and the theatre have both moved. The theatre has three stages and seats 870 in the main auditorium. There are 10-12 annual productions with a total of 250-400 performances, covering a wide selection of drama and musicals. Originally privately owned, it is now controlled and owned by the Danish Ministry of Culture. While most productions are housed in the main hall, the building can accommodate up to four shows in its other halls.
National Scala was an entertainment venue opposite Tivoli Gardens on Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen, Denmark. The building was later converted into a shopping centre and demolished in 2013.
The Reumert Prize is an annual Danish awards ceremony to recognize excellence in theatre achievements in Denmark. The prize was founded by the Bikuben Foundation in 1998 and has been handed annually since then. The prizes are in 16 categories and 10 talent-prizes. A special committee decides who the recipients will be. The Bikuben Foundation chooses the members of the committee, the members are specialists in theatre, i.e. theatre critics. The recipients receive a statuette and a prize. As of 2016 the recipients also receive an amount of money. The recipients of the Reumert Prize of honour receive DDK 200 000, the recipients of the Talent prize receive DDK 35 000 and all other categories-recipients receive DDK 40 000. The Reumert prize is named after the Danish actor Poul Reumert (1883-1968).
