Bronwyn Roye (born 18 July 1970 in Sydney) is an Australian former rower. She is a six-time national champion, a medalist at World Championships and a dual Olympian who raced in two Australian sculling events at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Roye's senior club rowing was initially from the St George Rowing Club on Sydney's Cooks River and then from the UTS Haberfield Rowing Club. [1]
Roye made state selection for New South Wales in 1994 in the state women's coxless four to contest the ULVA Trophy at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. [2] In 1995 she was the New South Wales single sculls entrant selected to race for the Nell Slatter Trophy at the Interstate Regatta. [3] In 1996 she raced both the state coxless four and the single scull, winning the Nell Slatter Trophy in the single. [4] She again contested the interstate single sculls title from 1997 to 2000 winning that title in 1997 and 1999. [5]
In UTS Haberfield colours she contested the open women's single scull title at the Australian Rowing Championships on seven consecutive occasion from 1994 to 2000. She won that national title in 1996, 1999 and 2000. [6]
Roye's Australian representative debut came in 1994 as a single sculler. At the 1994 World Rowing Championships in Indianapolis she was Australia's single sculls entrant and finished in fifth place. [1]
In 1995 she rowed in the Australian senior women's double scull. She raced with West Australian Emmy Snook at 1995 World Rowing Championships in Tampere to fourth place. [1] She then moved in to the Australian women's quad scull and with Sally Newmarch, Marina Hatzakis and Jane Robinson she competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics finishing ninth overall. [1] In Atlanta Roye also doubled up with Marina Hatzakis in the women's double scull and finished in fourth place. [1]
In 1997 Roye rowed in the double scull at the World Rowing Cup I but not at the World Championships. She came back into the senior quad in 1998 with Hatzakis, Robinson and Newmarch and after racing at the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, they competed at the 1998 World Rowing Championships in Cologne and won a bronze medal. Roye's final two years of representative rowing was with Hatzakis in the Australian women's double scull. They raced at the 1999 World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne and then at the 1999 World Rowing Championships in St Catharines, Canada to a sixth place finish. [1] Their campaign in the 2000 Olympic year started at two World Rowing Cups in Europe and then at Sydney 2000 they placed fourth in their heat and fought through a repechage to make the final in which they finished last for an overall sixth ranking. [7] It was the conclusion of Roye's representative career. [1]

Sally Newmarch, now known as Sally Callie, is an Australian former rower – a four-time national champion, a medal winning national representative who competed at World Rowing Championships from 1993 to 2004 and a three time Olympian.
Kate Elizabeth Slatter OAM is an Australian former rower, a sixteen time national champion, world champion and Olympic champion from Adelaide, South Australia. She is a three-time Olympian who in 1996 won Australia's first Olympic gold in women's rowing.
Amber Jae Halliday is a former rower and cyclist from Adelaide, South Australia. She is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and a three-time world-champion in lightweight rowing. She rowed for South Australia on nine occasions for six victories in Interstate Regattas and won numerous Australian titles at the Australian National Championships.
Megan Leanne Marcks, OAM is an Australian former national, Olympic and world champion rower. She is an Olympic and World Champion in the coxless pair who represented Australia at the Olympics in 1992 and 1996.
Olympia Aldersey is an Australian rower. She is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and was a 2019 World Champion in the coxless four. In 2014 she set a world's fastest ever time (6:37.31) in a women's double scull over 2000m, a record which has stood since. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Amber Bradley is an Australian former rower - a six time Australian national sculling champion, a two time World Champion, dual Olympian and an Olympic medal winner. She won her World Championships in both sculling and sweep-oared boat classes.
Timothy George McLaren is an Australian former Olympian rower and high-performance international rowing coach. He was a four-time Australian national champion, a national representative and won a silver medal in the men's quad scull at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Rebecca Susan Joyce is an Australian former rower, a sculler in the lightweight division. She was a five-time national champion, a 1995 world champion and Olympic medal winner.
Marina Ann Hatzakis is an Australian former rower - a dual Olympian who represented at world championships between 1993 and 2000.
Paul Anthony Thompson MBE is an Australian elite level rowing coach and former rower. As a rower he was an Australian under-age champion, won a silver medal at the 1985 U23 World Championships and rowed in senior King's Cup eights for both South Australia and New South Wales. He has coached Australian and British crews to World Championship titles and Olympic medals including taking Kate Slatter and Megan Still to Australia's first women's Olympic rowing gold at Atlanta 1996. By 2012 he was Great Britain's head coach for women and lightweights and took British crews to three gold and two silver medals at London 2012. Since 2022 he has been Rowing Australia's High Performance Director.
Laura Dunn is an Australian former lightweight rower. She is a three-time national champion and won a silver medal at the 2014 World Rowing Championships.
Sarah Pound is an Australian former representative lightweight rower. She is a three-time national champion and won a silver medal at the 2014 World Rowing Championships.
Gillian Margaret Campbell is an Australian former representative rower. In the six seasons from 1988 to 1993 she was consistently in the top-tier of Australian heavyweight women scullers winning ten national sculling titles and one sweep-oared championship title. She competed in the women's double sculls event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Jennifer Luff is an Australian former representative rower. In a nine year career at the elite level between 1988 and 1996 she won sixteen Australian national titles, raced for Australia at five World Rowing Championships and competed at the 1992 and the 1996 Summer Olympics. In 1990 and 1992 she won the full set of all three open women's sculling boat titles at the Australian Rowing Championships and mirrored that feat in 1995 when she won all three possible open women's titles in sweep-oared boats.
Emmelia Anne Snook is an Australian former representative rower. In a short six year career at the elite level, Snook was a twelve-time national champion, represented four times at World Rowing Championships and competed in the women's coxless four event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Annabelle McIntyre is an Australian national representative rower. She is an Olympic champion, a multiple Australian national champion and won medals at the 2019 World Rowing Championships and 2018 World Championships. She was selected as a 2021 Tokyo Olympian and doubled-up, racing both the Australian coxless pair and the coxless four. In the four she stroked the Australian crew to a gold medal victory.

Paul Francis Rowe was an Australian representative rower and elite level rowing coach. He was an eight-time Australian national champion in both sweep oared and sculling boats across both lightweight and open divisions. He was Australia's lightweight sculling representative at the 1975 World Rowing Championships. He coached scullers and crews to three Australia national title wins and to world championships and to Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
Tara Rigney is an Australian representative rower. A sculler, she is a three-time Australian national champion, a two-dual world championship medallist and a 2021 Tokyo Olympian who competed in the Australian women's double-scull.
