Buffoon is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language crime film written and directed by Ashok Veerappan, in his directorial debut. Be The film stars Vaibhav, Anagha, Adukalam Naren. The film has songs and score composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The cinematography and editing were handled by Dinesh Purushothaman and Vetre Krishnan, respectively. It was produced by Karthik Subbaraj, Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, Sudhan Sundaram and Jayaram under, Stone Bench Films and Passion Studios. [1] The film was released theatrically on 23 September 2022.

Theatrical

The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on 23 September 2022.[ citation needed ] The teaser of the film was released on 14 March 2022. The distribution rights of the film in Tamil Nadu were acquired by B. Sakthivelan under the banner of Sakthi Film Factory. [5]

Home media

The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film were bought by Netflix, [6] where it began stream from 14 October 2022. [7]

Critical reception

M. Suganth of The Times of India who gave 3 stars out of 5 stars after reviewing the film stated that,"Santhosh Narayanan adds to the tense nature of the scenes with his score". [8] Avinash Ravichandran of Cinema Express who gave 2.5 stars out of 5 stars after reviewing the film stated that "Although Buffoon definitely has a lot of heart and even more potential, there is only so much that intent can do when it has to contend with lackadaisical execution bogged further down by nonchalant writing". [9] Bharath Vijayakumar of Moviecrow rated the film 2.75 out of 5 and stated that "For now, Buffoon is a film that remains watchable". [10] Harshini S V of Film Companion wrote that "Buffoon is not tempted to take the predictable route and does justice to its story with a convincing climax. [11]

Meyaadha Maan is the soundtrack album jointly composed by Santhosh Narayanan and Pradeep Kumar for the 2017 film of the same name directed by Rathna Kumar. The album had seven tracks written by Vivek, Pradeep Kumar, Rathna Kumar and Mirchi Vijay. Prior to the album release, three songs – "Thangachi Song", "Enna Naan Seiven" and "Address Song" released as singles on 7, 25 August and 13 September, and the full album was unveiled on 27 September 2017, to positive reviews from critics and audience. Post-release, the tracks "Address Song" and "Thangachi Song" gained popularity.

Cuckoo is the musical album composed by Santhosh Narayanan to the 2014 Tamil film Cuckoo, directed by journalist-turned-filmmaker Raju Murugan in his directorial debut. The film starred Attakathi Dinesh and debutant Malavika Nair in leading roles, and was jointly produced by the companies Fox Star Studios and The Next Big Film Venture. The soundtrack album has six tracks, five of them being written by Yugabharathi and one song by Gaana Bala and R. K. Sundar.
