The COVID-19 Resilience Medal (CRM) is a special Singaporean decorations awarded to those who participated directly in the national fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Contents

History

The CRM was established in 2022 to honour individuals and organisation for their public-spirited efforts and contributions to the nation's fight against COVID-19. Special state awards were given to individuals and teams across the public, private, and people sectors, with particular emphasis on those in the public healthcare sector. Over 100,000 to receive national recognition for contributions and sacrifices towards Singapore's fight against COVID-19 [1]

Description

National Awards (COVID-19)

In addition to the CRM, several existing state awards have been adapted to reflect contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. These include the Commendation Medal, the Public Service Medal, and the Public Administration Medal. They all share the same ribbon as the COVID-19 Resilience Medal (CRM). The Pingat Kepujian is a Singaporean decoration instituted in 1996. The medal may be awarded to any of the following persons who has distinguished himself through commendable performance and conduct, or significant efficiency, competence and devotion to duty:

The Pingat Bakti Masyarakat is a Singaporean national honour. It was instituted in 1973. The medal may be awarded to any person who has rendered commendable public service in Singapore or for their achievement in the field of arts and letters, sports, the sciences, business, the professions and the labour movement.

The Pingat Penghargaan (Tentera) is a decoration awarded to any member of the Singapore Armed Forces who has placed himself above his peers through commendable achievements in military command or staff work, or who has performed service over and above the call of duty. The Pingat Kepujian is the civil equivalent award.

Winston Choo Wee Leong is a former Singaporean diplomat and lieutenant-general who served as Director, General Staff between 1974 and 1976, and then Chief of the General Staff between 1976 and 1990, and later Chief of Defence Force between 1990 and 1992.
