History

The college was founded by Lt Gen(R) Nazar Hussain in 1997 with only one building which used to serve as a multipurpose building for academics, hostel, mess, common room and for administration. Now the college has buildings for all purposes.

The first entry of CCKK passed out in 2003. They are called "The Pioneers." Cadet Ali Zafar (now Major in Pakistan Army) was the first college prefect and at the same time Wing Commander of Haider Wing. Cadet Furqan Wali (now Major in Pakistan Army) was the first Wing Commander of Jinnah Wing. Cadet Ahsan Farhat was the first Wing Commander of Baber Wing, Cadet Ammar Farooq (now Lt in Pakistan Navy) was the first wing commander of Omer wing and Cadet Zia Ul Qamar (now an IT professional) was the first college debating secretary.

CCKK has the honour of hosting the biggest sports gala in the history of cadet colleges of Pakistan. The first sports gala was held in 2008, which was hosted by 6th Entry, included Military College Jhelum, Cadet College Kohat, Aitchison College Lahore, Army Burn Hall College Abbottabad, Cadet College Kallar Kahar and again in 2012, which was hosted by 11th Entry. The guest colleges were Military College Jhelum, PAF Public School Sargodha, Cadet College Kohat, Abbottabad Public School, Military College Murree and Cadet College Kallar Kahar.

Wings

The college is subdivided into eight wings. Three Senior Cadets from Class 2nd year are appointed to each wing to maintain the discipline and ensure the welfare of the students abiding in their respective wings. The Wing Appointments answer to The PT Staff of the college. However, a few years back, the college had a House Master *Kamran Sahb (Late) who supervised all 4 houses (8 wings). He was known for his fierce gaze that kept the Cadets in Check. He was also among the founders of the college. May Allah grant him the highest rank in Jannat. (Aameen)

Infrastructure

The college is spread over 150 acres (0.61 km2) of land on a plateau. The average height is about 3,000 feet (910 m) above sea level. It is an open countryside with scenic panoramic view, free of pollution. It has a big C-shaped double-storied academic block. It has four cadet hostels with eight residential wings for cadets and one hostel for teachers. The dormitories are commodious and equipped with basic luxuries. Each cadet wing has its own common room with a music system, television set and other accessories.

The college possesses sports grounds of Cricket, football, Basketball, Volleyball and courts for indoor games such as Table tennis. The college has a swimming pool where water sports are conducted.

The college has its own riding school with 8 horses and one professional trainers.

The college has a uniquely and magnificently designed cadets mosque and two spacious cadets messes. It has a barber shop, cadets library, college water dam, science block, examination block and a well equipped computer lab.

The college now includes a dairy farm to ensure the provision of fresh milk without any contamination to the cadets. This initiative has been taken to maintain the hygiene balance and healthy nutrition of cadets and sustain an eco-friendly environment.

Student life

The students are called cadets. Cadets take part in sports such as football, basketball, swimming, volleyball, tennis and horse riding. Physical training (PT) is conducted in the morning and sports in the evening. Classes are conducted in the morning and preps at night. The tough routine ensures physical buildup as well as academic excellence.

Academics

The college prepares the boys for the Secondary School and Intermediate Examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi. Cadets excel in each examination of the local board and have achieved distinctions in the board. After graduation from the college, many Kaharians have gone on to secure top positions in all major universities of Pakistan.

In 2008, 81 cadets out of 87 got A+ grade and six cadets got A grade in matriculation examination which is A top result in Rawalpindi Board. In Board examination of Class IX, 80 cadets got A+ grade and 6 cadets got A grade in BISE Rawalpindi. In Board examination of Class XI, 69 cadets out of 95 got A+ grade and 26 got A grade in BISE Rawalpindi. Moreover, many cadets have procured positions in Rawalpindi Board over the past few years. The most recent among whom is Cadet Saif Ullah of 17th Entry who got over all 2nd position in HSSC-II 2019 BISE Rawalpindi. He stood 1st in Pre-Medical in HSSC-II in Rawalpindi Board 2019 Annual Result. The College appreciates such students and provides them with scholarships and further opportunities in various fields. Cadet Obaid Ur Rehman, Cadet Waqas Tahir and Cadet Ameer Hamza are among the many who managed to get commission in Pakistan Army through 144 L/C.
