Caledonian Hospital [1] [2] [3] opened in 1910, [4] [5] merged [6] [7] with the 1840s-founded Brooklyn Hospital in 1982 [8] and closed in 2003. [4] Pre-merger, Brooklyn had 444 beds and Caledonian 209. [7]

Caledonian's seven-story structure subsequently became a "luxury rental with 120 units." [9]

History

The hospital's founder's [10] son, Donald G. C. Sinclair (c. 1905–1976), was the president and subsequently chairman of the board. [11] [12]

By 1987, Brooklyn Caledonian's Caledonian Campus had a new wing, effectively doubling that location's size. [8] Funding was via loans that were backed by the Federal Housing Authority. [13]

Paddle8's sales focus on pieces priced between $1,000 and $100,000, all vetted by specialists for authenticity. Paddle8 had offices in New York, Los Angeles, London and Hong Kong. In 2016, Paddle8 merged with the Berlin online auction house Auctionata. In February 2017, Auctionata declared insolvency and Paddle8 became an independent company once again, before selling to Native in 2018, and then to Facebank AG in 2019. In March 2020, Paddle8 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York just one week after the non-profit New American Cinema Group filed a lawsuit against the company for allegedly misappropriating funds from a charity auction.

Interfaith Medical Center is a hospital located in Brooklyn, New York. With facilities in Crown Heights, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Prospect Heights, it is a full-service non-profit community hospital that has 287 beds and serves more than 11,000 inpatients each year. It also has more than 200,000 outpatient visits and services and 50,000 emergency department visits annually. Interfaith is also a teaching hospital, with four graduate medical education residency programs, and fellowship programs in Pulmonary Medicine, Cardiology and Gastroenterology. Interfaith continues to serve as a safety-net hospital for its surrounding community since it emerged from bankruptcy in 2014.

The Brooklyn Jewish Hospital and Medical Center was an academic, sectarian hospital in Crown Heights and Prospect Heights in Central Brooklyn. It merged with St. John's Episcopal Hospital to form Interfaith Medical Center in 1983.

St. John's Episcopal Hospital was founded in 1871 as a sectarian hospital. It was later known as St. John's Hospital of Brooklyn, 1545 Atlantic Avenue, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Central Brooklyn, and became a major teaching affiliate of the State University of New York Downstate Medical School. In 1982 they merged with the larger Brooklyn Jewish Hospital and Medical Center, forming Interfaith Medical Center. After severe financial difficulties, Interfaith closed. Both sites became apartments.

The hospital has been renamed several times before becoming part of New York-Presbyterian Hospital in 1997. They more recently partnered with Maimonides Medical Center. The hospital, which was described as "One Address, Many Hospitals" due to changing names, offers Kosher meals to patients.
