Calvin Duane Murray (born July 30,1971) is an American former baseball player who played outfield in the major leagues from 1999 to 2004 for the San Francisco Giants,Texas Rangers,and Chicago Cubs. He is a 1989 graduate of Dallas' W. T. White High School. [1] He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the first round of the 1989 Major League Baseball Draft,but did not sign,and instead attended the University of Texas. [2] He was the batter facing Randy Johnson when Johnson hit a dove with a fastball in a spring training game in 2001.
He is the younger brother of Kevin Murray,who was a quarterback at Texas A&M University from 1983 to 1986. He is the uncle of 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray. [3]
Murray, a senior at Dallas' W.T. White High School, will attend the University of Texas next fall on a baseball scholarship. But Murray, ranked the nation's No. 7 prospect by Baseball America, likely will be a high pick in the major league draft June 5.

Wilbur Donald Wakamatsu is an American former professional baseball player, scout, coach, and manager. Wakamatsu was drafted in the 11th round of the 1985 Major League Baseball draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox. He served as the bench coach of the Texas Rangers from 2018 through 2021. He was hired as bench coach of the Kansas City Royals for the 2014 season. He was the manager of the Seattle Mariners for the 2009 season, as well as the majority of the 2010 season. He was the Toronto Blue Jays' bench coach for 2011 and 2012, after which he was replaced by DeMarlo Hale. During the 2013 season he worked as a scout for the New York Yankees in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He is currently the first-ever executive vice president of baseball operations with the Oakland Ballers.
Kevin Murray is an American former football quarterback at Texas A&M University and is currently a high school football coach. Murray's younger brother is former Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder Calvin Murray. His son, Kyler, won the Heisman Trophy and was selected first overall in the 2019 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
The Texas A&M Aggie baseball team represents Texas A&M University in NCAA Division I college baseball. The Aggies have competed in the Southeastern Conference since 2013. A first-round draft pick in the 2007 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers, Beavan was traded to the Seattle Mariners in 2010 in a package of prospects for Cliff Lee.
