The Campeonato de Lisboa (English: Championship of Lisbon) was a regional football league in Portugal situated at the third level of the Portuguese football league system. It started in 1906, before the Lisbon Football Association was created, and ran until 1947.
The Campeonato de Portugal was created in 1922 and reunited all of regional league winners in a playoff. From 1934, with the establishment of the Primeira Divisão and Segunda Divisão, it became the third level.
As time progressed, main clubs focused on national competitions, so the league folded in 1947.

Portuguese football is divided into divisions. The major teams play in the Primeira Liga. The other professional teams play against each other in the LigaPro. The other major competitions are the Portuguese Cup, Portuguese League Cup and Portuguese Super Cup.
The Primeira Liga, officially known as Liga Portugal Betclic for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Portuguese football league system. Organised and supervised by the Liga Portugal, it is contested by 18 teams since the 2014–15 season, with the three lowest-placed teams relegated to the Liga Portugal 2 and replaced by the top-three non-reserve teams from this division.
There are 22 district football associations in Portugal. These organizations are the governing bodies of football in each Portuguese district.
The Associação de Futebol do Algarve is one of the 22 district football associations that are affiliated to the Portuguese Football Federation. The AF Algarve administers lower tier football in the district of Faro.
Vítor Manuel Ferreira Baptista was a Portuguese footballer. Mainly a second striker, he could also operate as an attacking midfielder.
Casa Pia Atlético Clube is a Portuguese multi-sports club founded in 1920 and based in Lisbon, Portugal, best known for its professional football team, that competes in the Primeira Liga. The club is named after Casa Pia, a Portuguese children's charity, and many of its athletes come from that institution. Its football stadium is Estádio Pina Manique, named in honor of Pina Manique, the founder of Casa Pia children's charity. Casa Pia AC was one of the most versatile Portuguese clubs, having played 25 sports, with the curiosity of having been the only one who practiced Baseball regularly, beating the strong team of the American Colony on 4 July 1923 at Campo das Laranjeiras by 25–24.
Grupo Desportivo Fabril is a Portuguese sports club established as Grupo Desportivo CUF do Barreiro, with CUF standing for the company Companhia União Fabril. A multisports club best known for its football section, it was founded as a works team in the city of Barreiro, District of Setúbal, on 27 January 1937. CUF Barreiro's greatest achievement was a third place in the 1964–65 Portuguese Liga season. The club's football home ground is the Complexo Desportivo Alfredo da Silva, which was inaugurated in June 1965 and named after Alfredo da Silva, an entrepreneur who was the founder of CUF.
Atlético Clube de Portugal is a Portuguese sports club from the parish of Alcântara, within the city of Lisbon. It was founded on 18 September 1942 from the merger of two clubs located in Alcântara and Santo Amaro. In addition to Football, the club also has sections of Futsal and Basketball. Historically, the club had sections of Field Hockey, Swimming, Sport Fishing, Cycle-Touring, Table Tennis, Rugby, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Triathlon and Handball.
Guilherme Santa Graça do Espírito Santo, best known as Espírito Santo, was a Portuguese footballer and athlete.
Clube Desportivo de Mafra is a Portuguese association football club, currently playing in the Liga Portugal 2, the second tier of the Portuguese football league system. They are based in the town of Mafra and own Campo Doutor Mário Silveira stadium, but the games are played in Estádio Municipal de Mafra. Founded in 1965, the club predominantly played within Portugal's regional leagues where they gradually worked their way up until they won the Lisbon Football Association Division 1 title in the 1991–92 league season and promotion to the national leagues.

Álvaro Cardoso da Silva was a Portuguese footballer who played as a central defender. He was known as Senhor Cardoso during his highly successful spell at Sporting.
The 1938–39 Taça de Portugal was the first season of the Taça de Portugal, the premier Portuguese football knockout competition, organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The final was played on 26 June 1939 between Académica de Coimbra and Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
The 1939–40 Taça de Portugal was the second season of the Taça de Portugal, the premier Portuguese football knockout competition, organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). Académica de Coimbra was the defending champion but lost in the first round to Boavista. The final was played on 7 July 1940 between S.L. Benfica and Belenenses.
Clube Futebol Benfica, commonly known as Futebol Benfica, or simply as Fofó, is a Portuguese sports club based in the Benfica neighborhood of Lisbon. The club was founded on 23 March 1933; however, the origins of the club can be traced back to 1895. Futebol Benfica is mostly known for its men's football, women's football, field hockey and roller hockey teams.

União Desportiva Vilafranquense is a Portuguese football club from Vila Franca de Xira, Lisbon District.
The 1983–84 season was Sport Lisboa e Benfica's 80th season in existence and the club's 50th consecutive season in the top flight of Portuguese football, covering the period from 1 July 1983 to 30 June 1984. Benfica competed domestically in the Primeira Divisão, Taça de Portugal and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, and participated in the European Cup after winning the previous league. They also played in the Iberian Cup with the La Liga winners, Athletic Bilbao.

Benfica competed domestically in the Primeira Divisão and the Taça de Portugal, and participated in the European Cup Winners' Cup after winning the Taça de Portugal in the previous season.
The 2020–21 Campeonato de Portugal was the eighth season of Portuguese football's renovated third-tier league, since the merging of the Segunda Divisão and Terceira Divisão in 2013, and the sixth season under the current Campeonato de Portugal title. A total of 96 teams competed in this division.
