The Capilano Rugby Football Club is a Canadian rugby union team based in West Vancouver, British Columbia. The Capilano Rugby Football Club currently play in the British Columbia Premiership and have won the BC Premier Championship three times.
The Capilano Rugby Football Club is the product of the amalgamation of two rugby clubs, the North Shore All-Blacks and the West Vancouver Barbarians, in 1969. Before the merger the North Shore All-Blacks were dominant in the 1930s capturing the British Columbia championship six successive seasons (1933 to 1935, 1937, 1948, and 1955). The Capilanos continue to be a strong contender in the modern era winning three championships of their own in 2004 and 2005. Most recently, the Capilanos defeated James Bay Athletic Association 22-21 in the 2011-12 BC Premiership final to win their third provincial championship as the Capilano Rugby Football Club. [1]
In 1982 a deal was struck with West Vancouver to designate Klahanie Park the home of North Shore Rugby and continues to be the home ground of the Capilano RFC.

The club is connected with George Watson's College as a club for former pupils, and changed its policy in the 1980s to be a fully open club, welcoming players of all abilities regardless of whether they attended the school or not. The Lions, known as Ch'ích'iyúy Elx̱wíḵn in the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) language, are a pair of pointed peaks along the North Shore Mountains in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They can be seen from much of the Greater Vancouver area, as far as Robert Burnaby Park in East Burnaby, south to parts of Surrey, and from the west on the Howe Sound Islands and the Sunshine Coast. Along with the Lions Gate Bridge named in their honour, these twin summits have become one of the most recognizable Vancouver landmarks. The city's BC Lions CFL football team is also named in their honour. Lions Gate Entertainment which was founded in Vancouver in July, 1997 is also named for the peaks.

The Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame was established to help recognise outstanding services and overall contribution made to the sport of Australian rules football in Tasmania. Any participant of the sport, including players, umpires, media personalities and coaches, may be inducted. A physical hall was established in 2005 after the Tasmanian Community Fund provided a $50,000 grant to assist AFL Tasmania and the Launceston City Council with establishment of a permanent facility at York Park. The decision to locate the Hall of Fame at the ground was because the site had recently been redeveloped and was positioned as the "true home of Tasmanian football". AFL Tasmania initiated the Hall of Fame nomination process, with a number of clubs, players and grounds nominated and accepted into the Hall of Fame since 2005. The public Hall of Fame opened to the public on Saturday 21 February 2009.

The 1979 New Zealand rugby union tour of England, Scotland and Italy was a series of eleven matches played by the New Zealand national rugby union team in England, Scotland and Italy in October and November 1979. The tour was very successful as the team won ten of the eleven games, including the international matches against Scotland and England. The only team to defeat the All Blacks was the English Northern Division.
