Baton Rouge is the capital city of the U.S. state of Louisiana. Located on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River, it had a population of 227,470 as of 2020; it is the seat of Louisiana's most populous parish (county-equivalent), East Baton Rouge Parish, and the center of Louisiana's second-largest metropolitan area, Greater Baton Rouge.
Zachary is a city in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, United States. It lies 16 miles (26 km) north of the city of Baton Rouge, and had a population of 14,960 at the 2010 census, up from 11,275 in 2000. At the 2020 census, Zachary's population increased to 19,316.
Baton Rouge Magnet High School is a public magnet school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States, founded in 1880. It is part of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System with a student body of approximately 1500 students. The current building was built in 1926, and, as Baton Rouge High School, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The campus underwent a two-year renovation and expansion starting in 2010, resulting in the addition of two new wings to the main building. This renovation was completed and the school reopened in fall 2012. Baton Rouge High is also one of the highest-ranked schools in the state, and consistently wins state-level academic competitions. The school requires students to pass enrollment standards and exceed graduation standards. As a result, nearly all graduating students attend college.

Seimone Delicia Augustus is an American former professional basketball player who is one of the most recognizable faces in the WNBA. After retiring as a player in 2020, she was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) for two seasons. She was drafted first overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2006 draft; and played for the Lynx for most of her WNBA career except for her final season in 2020 with the Los Angeles Sparks. An eight-time All-Star and the 2011 finals MVP, Augustus led the Lynx to four WNBA championships. She also won three gold medals in the Olympics on the U.S. national team.

Rheagan Reneé Courville is a former American collegiate gymnast for the LSU Lady Tigers gymnastics team. In 2013, she was the National Co-Champion on vault and was also SEC Gymnast of the Year, Central Region Gymnast of the Year, and Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) Gymnast of the Year. Once again in 2014, Rheagan was the National Co-Champion on vault, 2014 TAF Gymnast of the Year, SEC Gymnast of the Year, Central Region Co-Gymnast of the Year, 2014 NACGC/W Scholastic All-American. From 2012-2015 Rheagan Courville awarded SEC Academic Honor Roll. Has earned the most All America Honors in school history. She also helped the LSU Tigers finish 3rd in the team competition, the highest in school history. 2021 Region 8 Athlete Hall of Fame. During her elite career, Rheagan was crowned 2007 U.S. Classic Champion. Rheagan finished 5th at the 2007 VISA Championships.

The school was subsequently reopened in 2011 as a magnet school in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Liberty Magnet has a student body of approximately 1,100 students. Liberty Magnet High School is classified as an "A" school, receiving a 106.7 SPS in 2017. Liberty requires students to pass enrollment standards and exceed graduation standards.

Franciscan High School, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, opened in August 2016, as Cristo Rey Franciscan High School and part of the Cristo Rey Network. In July 2022, the school became known as Franciscan High School, operating with the sponsorship of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady and within the Diocese of Baton Rouge. The school closed on June 2, 2023.

St. George is a proposed city in Louisiana that was approved in a ballot initiative on October 12, 2019. Upon incorporation, it would become the fifth largest city in Louisiana and the second largest in East Baton Rouge Parish with a population of 86,316. The proposed city originates from a previously unincorporated area of East Baton Rouge Parish located southeast of the City of Baton Rouge.
William P. "Buckskin Bill" Black was a Louisiana children's television personality and, later, school board member. He hosted what at the time were the longest-running children's television programs in the United States, Storyland and The Buckskin Bill Show, on Baton Rouge's WAFB-TV. Black famously helped raise funds to get the Baton Rouge Zoo built after promoting the cause on his show in the late 1950s and through the 1960s. After his successful television career, he was elected to the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in 1994 and served for 16 years.
