Central High School is a public high school in Central, Louisiana, United States, in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area. It is the only high school in the Central Community School System.

Contents

The Central school system serves the entire city of Central, [2] [3] as well as a section of the Brownfields census-designated place and another small unincorporated area. [4]

A 9th-grade academy building was planned as a way of relieving congestion within the main school facility and was finished in 2015. [5] [6]

History

The school was originally a part of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. [7] As a part of the EBR school board, [8] it served most of Central, [9] and a portion of Brownfields. [10]

Central High athletics competes in the LHSAA.

Football

In 2023, Central High hired new head coach David Simoneaux, a Baton Rouge native who graduated from Parkview Baptist High School, and previously coached at nearby Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee.
