Crane County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 4,675. The county seat is Crane. The county was created in 1887 and later organized in 1927. It was named for William Carey Crane, a president of Southern Baptist-affiliated Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Stephenville is a city in, and the county seat of, Erath County, Texas, United States. It is on the North Bosque River, which forms nearby. Founded in 1854, it is home to Tarleton State University. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 20,847, and it is the principal city in the Stephenville Micropolitan Statistical Area. Stephenville is among several communities that call themselves the "Cowboy Capital of the World".

The area was founded in 1893 by John H. Burnett of Galveston, who named the area after Pasadena, California, because of the perceived lush vegetation.

The American Association for Australasian Literary Studies (AAALS) is an organization of scholars in North America that studies and promotes research in the literature of Australia and New Zealand. Its activities are partially funded by the Literature Fund of the Australia Council for the Arts. It publishes the journal Antipodes, A Global Journal of Australian/NZ Literature and holds an annual conference, rotated between locations in the United States and Canada. The most recent AAALS conferences were held at Harvard University in 2005; at McGill University in 2006; at Georgetown University in 2007, at the University of Texas in 2008; in Washington, DC in 2010, Fort Worth, TX in 2011, Toronto 2012, Washington DC (2013), Portland, OR (2014), Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX (2015), Seattle, WA (2016), Orangeburg, SC (2017), New York City (2018), Fairbanks, AK (2019) and Chicago, IL. The current President is Nathanael O'Reilly of Texas Christian University; Eva Rueschmann of Hampshire College serves as Vice-President. The organization was founded in 1986 by Robert L. Ross (1934-2005) and has since then assumed an increasing international profile. Featured guest speakers have included Peter Carey, David Malouf, Lily Brett, John Tranter, Frank Moorhouse, Thomas Keneally, Alan Wearne, Mudrooroo, Kate Grenville, Jeanine Leane, Lyn McCredden, David Carter, Janette Turner Hospital and John Kinsella. In 1996 the AAALS became an Allied Organization of the Modern Language Association, at which it holds sessions annually.
The official scholarly journal of the AAALS is entitled Antipodes. Antipodes appears twice a year, each issue containing ten or so academic articles, plus poems, short stories, and book reviews. The journal always features a cover image by an Australian or New Zealand artist. The journal was founded in 1987 by Robert L. Ross and edited by Nicholas Birns from 2001 to 2018; Brenda Machosky currently serves as the Editor. Antipodes is published by Wayne State University Press. Recent special issue topics have been: Australia and Asia, Australia and Latin America, pedagogy and Australian/NZ literature, and the theme of fear in Australian literature.

The Texas Bullets were a team in the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) in 1998. The Bullets franchise was owned by Wayne Stigler, who also was the team's head coach. The Bullets played their home games at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton, TX., with the team offices located in Temple, TX. The team's color's were: Black, Turquoise, & Silver. The Bullets suffered disappointing attendance and the costs of taking the team on a road trip to Hawaii to take on the Honolulu Hurricanes, proved too much. The team folded after ten regular season games. Of the eight clubs that were in the first batch of PIFL franchises in '98, six still existed. The Bullets franchise was moved to Austin, TX. in 1999 and renamed the Texas Terminators in the renamed Indoor Professional Football League.
Bay City Independent School District is a 4A public school district based in Bay City, Texas (USA). It is the largest school district in Matagorda county, covering 158 sq mi. BCISD operates five campuses: Bay City High School, Bay City Junior High, Tenie Holmes Elementary, Linnie Roberts Elementary, and John H. Cherry Elementary. The district is 20 miles from Matagorda Beach and the Gulf Coast of Mexico and 70 miles SW of Houston, serving 3,500 students and 550 employees.

It is currently chaired by Matt Rinaldi, succeeding Allen West who resigned prior to the expiration of his term to run for governor of Texas. The party is headquartered in Austin. It is currently the state's favored party, controlling the majority of Texas's U.S. House seats, both U.S. Senate seats, both houses of the state legislature, and the governorship.

Interstate 69 (I-69) is an Interstate Highway that is in the process of being built in the US state of Texas. It is part of a longer I-69 extension known as the NAFTA superhighway, that, when completed, will connect Canada to Mexico. In Texas, it will connect Tenaha and the Louisiana segment of the route through the eastern part of the state and along the Texas Gulf Coast to Victoria, where it will split into three branches: I-69E to Brownsville, I-69C to Pharr, and I-69W to Laredo. The first segment of I-69 in Texas was opened in 2011 near Corpus Christi. The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) approved an additional 58 miles (93 km) of US 77 from Brownsville to the Willacy–Kenedy county line for designation as I-69, which was to be signed as I-69E upon concurrence from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). FHWA approval for this segment was announced on May 29, 2013. By March 2015, a 74.9-mile (120.5 km) section of US 59 had been completed and designated as I-69 through Greater Houston. As of 2023, short segments near the southern terminuses of the three branch routes have also all been completed. These branches are planned to be connected.
