Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee is the eighth studio-album by Haitian singer-songwriter and rapper Wyclef Jean. It was released on September 15, 2017. [4]
Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee was Jean's first album recorded without his longtime co-producer Jerry Duplessis. Instead tracks were produced by Jean and several relatively unknown co-producers. Similarly, unlike previous Wyclef Jean albums, there were few high-profile appearances: the best known featured artistes were Lunchmoney Lewis and Emeli Sande.
On June 22, 2017, Jean released the first single from the album, titled "Fela Kuti", [5] along with another song, titled "What Happened to Love". [6] On July 14, 2017, Wyclef released the "Fela Kuti" official lyric video. [7]
Mai Perkins of Pop Magazine wrote in a positive review, "Carnival 3 is right on time. Wyclef’s songwriting is ripe with empowerment and resilience. The album is a concise 12-track body of work with a handful of features and tributes to the likes of Fela Kuti as well as to the hallmarks of hip-hop." [3] Mr. Wavvy of Cult MTL offered a negative critique, describing the album as "a cheap nostalgia cash-in". [1]
On December 25, 2017, Jean announced The Carnival Tour on social media. [8] [9] It started on February 9, 2018, and ended on October 26, 2018, after 56 shows.

Fugees is an American hip hop group formed in the early 1990s. Deriving its name from a shortening of the word "refugees", the group consists of Wyclef Jean, Pras Michel, and Lauryn Hill. The group is often cited as being one of the most significant alternative hip hop groups of the 1990s. The Fugees have won two Grammy Awards and a Brit Award for International Group.
Nel Ust Wyclef Jean is a Haitian rapper, musician, and actor. At the age of nine, Jean immigrated to the United States with his family. He first achieved fame as a member of the New Jersey hip hop group the Fugees, alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel. They released the albums Blunted on Reality (1994) and The Score (1996), the latter becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. Jean would follow this with the release of his first solo studio album, Wyclef Jean Presents The Carnival (1997), which contains the top ten hit "Gone till November".

Greatest Hits is the first compilation album by Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean, released on October 7, 2003. Tevin Campbell is the fourth studio album by the American R&B singer Tevin Campbell. It was released by Qwest Records and Warner Bros. on February 23, 1999. The album features production from Stevie J, Wyclef Jean, and others. Campbell released three singles, having only one of them chart on the US Billboard Hot 100, "Another Way". The other two singles are "Losing All Control" and "For Your Love", both with minor showings on the R&B charts.
"Gone till November" is the third single released from Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean's debut solo album, The Carnival (1997). It peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Jean's highest-charting solo hit in the UK alongside 2000's "It Doesn't Matter". In the United States, the song peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also reached number four in both Canada and New Zealand.
"We Trying to Stay Alive" is the first single released from Wyclef Jean's debut solo album, The Carnival. The song features raps by John Forté and Pras and samples the 1977 Bee Gees hit "Stayin' Alive" and Audio Two's "Top Billin'" (1987). Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant is the sixth studio album by Haitian rapper and former Fugees member Wyclef Jean, released in 2007 as the sequel to his first solo album, The Carnival. Speaking to noted urban writer Pete Lewis of the award-winning Blues & Soul in September 2007, Wyclef explained his thinking behind the album: "Titling it The Carnival 2 was down to The Carnival back in '97 being my first multi-cultural CD. It had rhythms from all over the world, and in that way this new record is the sequel. You know, there's a revolution of culture going on around the world today where the United Nations is everywhere! You go into a room, and everybody's from a different country. It's like we're ALL immigrants! Some of these people may be listening to bhangra, some to hip hop, some to rock... And, when you put that fusion together, it unites people through music."
"Sweetest Girl " is the lead single from Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean's sixth studio album, Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant. The R&B and hip hop song features vocals from Niia and Akon, as well as rapper Lil Wayne. Verizon Wireless released the song on their V CAST service on August 7, 2007. It peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2008.

Kiari Kendrell Cephus, known professionally as Offset, is an American rapper. He rose to prominence as part of the rap group Migos, alongside his cousin Quavo, and his late first cousin Takeoff. In 2017, Offset released the collaborative album Without Warning, alongside 21 Savage and record producer Metro Boomin. Ayoola Oladapo Agboola also known as KDDO or Kiddominant is a Nigerian recording producer, songwriter, and artist. He's best known for producing Afrobeats longest charting billboard single "Fall" by Davido, which peaked on US R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at number 13 and US Hot R&B Songs chart at number 25 on Billboard. According to OkayAfrica, Fall is Nigeria's longest-charted pop song in Billboard history and Pitchfork named it among the best 200 song of the decade. In 2017, he was part of Pulse Nigeria's top 10 record producers to focus on. In 2020, Kiddominant became the first Afrobeats producer in history to be certified by the recording industry association of America, after fall became a certified gold record in the US.
