Cecilio Martin Ynares (born November 21, 1954) is a Filipino politician who serves as the vice mayor of Binangonan since 2016. He previously served as the mayor of the town from 2007 until 2016.
He was born on November 21, 1954, to Casimiro Ynares Sr., who became mayor of Binangonan from 1945 to 1946, and again from 1952 until 1956; and to Consolacion Martin-Ynares. He has three siblings: retired Associate Judge Consuelo Ynares-Santiago, former Rizal governor Casimiro Ynares Jr., and Binangonan Mayor Cesar Ynares.
He finished his primary education in Binangonan Elementary School and went to Binangonan Catholic High School for his Secondary Education. He studied AB Liberal Arts major in political science from the University of Manila. [1]
He started his political career when he was elected as municipal councilor of Binangonan in 2004.
He was elected as mayor of Binangonan and served from 2007 until 2016. [2]
On February 10, 2011, during the distribution of PhilHealth ID cards to the residents of Talim Island, he was represented by his daughter, Rhea. [3]
On December 28, 2013, the first Mayor Boyet Ynares 10-ball invitational billiards championship was held at the Binangonan Recreation and Conference Center. He spearheaded the event together with pool legend Efren Reyes and facilitated by the Puyat Sports. [4]
He ran as vice mayor in 2016 and won. [5] He ran again for re-election in 2019 and 2022, and he won. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]
Binangonan, officially the Municipality of Binangonan, is a 1st class urban municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 313,631 people.
