Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park became the 388th unit of the United States National Park Service when it was authorized on December 19, 2002. The National Historical Park was created to protect several historically significant locations in the Shenandoah Valley of Northern Virginia, notably the site of the American Civil War Battle of Cedar Creek and the Belle Grove Plantation.

Elmonte, also known as Twilford, is a historic home located at Ellicott City, Howard County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story country house, built of random ashlar granite in the Italian villa style, and is thought to have been completed in 1858. To the rear of the mansion is a stuccoed carriage house with a two-car garage. East of the house is a large wooden barn with a slate roof and a log smokehouse. The home was built by a member of the Dorsey family, who also built nearby Dorsey Hall.

La Veille, or La Veille Place, is a historic home located at Mutual, Calvert County, Maryland, United States. It is a 1+1⁄2-story gambrel-roofed brick house, of Flemish bond construction. A number of early-19th-century outbuildings include: a log corn crib, three barns, several small sheds, and a frame house that was created by the joining of two 18th-century log slave quarters. Between the "Quarters" and the main house is the La Veille family cemetery, enclosed within an elaborate late-19th-century wrought iron fence.

Spye Park is a historic home located at White Plains, Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is a modestly scaled, 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay frame Colonial dwelling built about 1767. The house's present plan and appearance is the result of a series of 19th- and early-20th-century alterations to the original structure, which was a rectangular, one-room-deep building with end chimneys. Also on the property is a timber-framed tobacco barn, a former animal barn, a cornhouse, a poultry house/machine shed, and a wellhouse.
Mount Aventine is a farm complex and national historic district located along the Potomac River in Bryans Road, Charles County, Maryland. The complex includes the main house; a second-quarter 19th century Greek Revival-influenced brick house. It was enlarged about 1860 to its present five-bay, center-passage, 2+1⁄2-story appearance. Also on the property are a 19th-century frame smokehouse, the site of another 19th-century house complex, late-19th /early-20th-century agricultural outbuildings, house and dairy barn complex built about 1900, historic roadbeds, a family cemetery, and sites of a 19th-century fishery and an 18th-century house.
Harris Farm is a historic home and farm complex located at Walkersville, Frederick County, Maryland, United States. The main house was built in 1855, and is a three-story center plan house in predominantly late Greek Revival syle, with some Italianate elements. The agricultural complex consists of a bank barn with an attached granary; a second frame barn that shares an animal yard with the bank barn; a row of frame outbuildings including a converted garage, a workshop, and a chicken house. There is also a drive-through double corn crib; and a frame pig pen from 1914. The 20th-century buildings consist of a frame poultry house, a dairy barn with milk house and two silos, and an octagonal chicken coop. A lime kiln is located on the edge of the property. The property is preserved as part of the Walkersville Heritage Farm Park.
Cedar Grove is a historic home located at Williamsport in Washington County, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story, four-bay brick-cased log dwelling with a central chimney built of stone and brick. The original part of the house was built about 1760, with later Federal-style additions. The house is likely one of the early tenement houses on Lord Baltimore's Conococheague Manor.
Mannheim is a historic home and former grist mill located at San Mar, Washington County, Maryland, United States. The house is a 2-story, three-bay structure built of roughly coursed local limestone, with a one-story stone kitchen wing. Also on the property is a large frame bank barn and a small board-and-batten service kitchen or wash house. Nearby are the remains of a saw mill a large 2+1⁄2-story grist mill. The mill on this property, known as "Murray's Mill," was in operation through the 19th century.
Mount Airy, also known as Grove Farm, is a historic home located at Sharpsburg, Washington County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story Flemish bond brick house, built about 1821 with elements of the Federal and Greek Revival styles. Also on the property are a probable 1820s one-story gable-roofed brick structure that has been extensively altered over time, a late-19th-century frame barn with metal roof ventilators, a 2-story frame tenant house built about 1900, and a mid-20th-century cinder block animal shed. It was used as a hospital for Confederate and Union soldiers following the Battle of Antietam. On October 3, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln and General George McClellan visited Mount Airy, an event recorded photographically by Alexander Gardner.
Tyrconnell is a historic home located in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story stone house set on 27 acres (110,000 m2) which contain several significant gardens by the landscape architect Arthur Folsom Paul. The house was designed by the Baltimore firm of Mottu and White in 1919, in Colonial Revival style. Also on the property is a frame gardeners’ house, a grouping of four barns and a shed, a garage, and two stone spring houses.
Swansbury is a historic home and complex located at Aberdeen, Harford County, Maryland, United States. The buildings are clustered together near the center of the 86.78-acre (351,200 m2) forested property. The complex consists of a five-bay, two-story, multi-part, frame residence and several period frame dependencies. The oldest part of the house dates to about 1760, with major Federal style additions made in the late 18th or every early 19th century. Also on the property are an array of eleven frame outbuildings which seem to date from the early 19th century. The grounds are dotted with ancient exotic specimen trees and shrubs.

Lansdowne, also known as Upper Deale or Lansdowne Farm, is a historic home and farm complex located at Centreville, Queen Anne's County, Maryland, United States. It consists of a brick dwelling, and a large barn, granary, and several outbuildings. The house was built in two distinct periods. The earliest house dates to the late colonial period and is a two-story, brick house, three bays wide and two rooms deep, with a single flush chimney on each gable. It is attached to a larger, Federal-period house built in 1823. The later house is brick, two and a half stories high, and was built directly adjoining the west gable of the earlier structure.

The main section was erected in 1793, and followed a modified hall / parlor plan. Also on the property are an 1880 bi-level hay-and-horse barn with a long shed addition for dairy stalls, a 19th-century granary, a late-19th-century corn crib, a rusticated concrete block well house, and a rusticated concrete dairy.

The Cedar Falls Ice House is an historic building located in Cedar Falls, Iowa, United States. It was built in 1921 and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977. The building currently serves as the Ice House Museum.
