Chandreyee Ghosh (sometimes spelled Chandreyee Ghosh or ChandrayeeGhosh) is an Indian actress, who appears in Bengali film and television series.

Career

Ghosh made her film debut in Sekhar Das's Mohulbanir Sereng , followed by Tista in 2005, Manush Bhut and Dosar in 2006 and Kaal in 2007. In 2008/09 she announced the beginning of her directorial venture with Sama. The film, which dwells on homosexuality, as per her it is based on her own story and the music will be composed by the actor Parambrata Chatterjee. She said, "I was mentally preparing myself to step into direction for a long time," and "I now have the confidence to go ahead with this independent project." She has also been in several television roles, such as Raat Bhor Brishti, Uttaron and Mohona. She will next be seen in a mega-serial, Dushaha Bash , based on Taslima Nasreen’s work and deals with the lives of three sisters. She also had a successful stint with comedy in the serial Labonor Sansar, which was telecast on Zee Bangla. She is currently active with a number of serials, among them the major ones include Behula as in Hindu Goddess Manasa, Ekhane Aakash Neel, Sindoorkhela, Kiranmala, Debipaksha, Bodhu Kon Alo Laaglo Chokhe, Ami Sirajer Begum and Jai Kali Kalkattawali all eight telecasted on Free-to-Air Channel Star Jalsa. Dosar is a 2006 Bengali language Indian drama film. It was produced by Arindam Chaudhuri and directed by Rituparno Ghosh, the black-and-white film won the National Film Award – Special Jury Award / Special Mention for the lead role portrayal by Prosenjit Chatterjee. The movie additionally stars Konkona Sen Sharma, who for her part won the Best Actress Award at the New York Film Festival in 2007. The film was premiered in the 60th 2007 Cannes Film Festival in the Les Cinema Du Monde section. The film was a sleeper hit at the box office.

<i>Kiranmala</i> Bengali television serial

Kiranmala was an Indian Bengali language television series which aired on Star Jalsha from 4 August 2014 to 19 November 2016. It was produced by Surinder Films and starred Rooqma Ray, Farhan Imroze and Chandrayee Ghosh. It was based on traditional folktales as collected in Thakurmar Jhuli by Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumder. The series was dubbed into Tamil and aired on Star Vijay. An Odisha dubbed version was aired on Tarang TV.

Payel De, also known as Payel Dey, is a Bengali actress. She began her career in 2006 with Zee Bangla's Ekdin Pratidin daily soap and portrayed the character Chandrayee as a supporting role. She is known for her work in television soap opera serials Durga and Behula where she played the title character, both of these aired on Star Jalsha. She started her career while she was studying in college. Afterwards, she starred as Aalo Moitra in the TV serial Bodhu Kon Alo Laaglo Chokhe which aired on Star Jaisha. She has also played lead characters in Maa Durga, Tobu Mone Rekho, Ardhangini, Jaahanara, Durga Durgeshwari, Chuni Panna and currently Desher Maati.
