Anhui is a landlocked province of the People's Republic of China, part of the East China region. Its provincial capital and largest city is Hefei. The province is located across the basins of the Yangtze River and the Huai River, bordering Jiangsu to the east, Zhejiang to the southeast, Jiangxi to the south, Hubei to the southwest, Henan to the northwest, and Shandong for a short section in the north.

Chaohu is a county-level city of Anhui Province, People's Republic of China, it is under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Hefei. Situated on the northeast and southeast shores of Lake Chao, from which the city was named, Chaohu is under the administration of Hefei, the provincial capital, and is the latter's easternmost county-level division.

Anqing Prison is a prison in Daguan, Anhui, China. It was established in 1906 and is the oldest prison still in use in the province. During the late Qing Dynasty it was known as "Anqing Criminal Training Center." During the Republic of China period it was called Yinmatang Prison. In May 1949, it was renamed North Anhui Anqing Administrative Area Prison. In June 1952 it was changed to Anqing public security office LRD. In June 1955 it was renamed No.2 Prison. In 1995 it was renamed to Anhui Anqing prison. The prison houses serious offenders. The prison enterprise consists of Anqing Wanjiang Color Weaving Company which includes a colored woven cloth factory, a garment factory, a machinery factory, and Qingfeng Plastics Factory. The prison mainly does machinery and garment processing.
Bengbu Prison is a prison in Bengbu, Anhui, China. It was established in 1958. The prison houses severe criminals and on average holds roughly 2,000 inmates. The prison enterprise mainly deals with the processing and production of rubber hoses.

Lujiang Prison is a prison in Chaohu City, Anhui, China established in 1957, with an area of 987mu. It is a high security prison for serious offenders currently employing over 1,600 inmates. The prison is one of China's largest national valve manufacturers that produces standard valves. In 1997, it received (DNV)ISO9002 quality system authentication via Norwegian Classification Society. In 1998, it had large shares of stock in Shanghai East China Valve Ltd. In 1998, the prison received Anhui Province prize for quality control. Lujiang Changtai Machine Works was approved by the State Economic and Trade Commission to manage valve factory's imports and exports. Products are exported to other countries including Britain and the US. Several valves are best-selling in over 60 countries and regions, including the US, Japan, Britain, France, and Germany.
Qingshan Prison is a prison in Chaohu City, Anhui, China established in 1972. Originally Prov. No. 3 LRD, or Baihu Farm. In 1992, organization status changed to 'prison.' Has an area of 67.8 square meters, employs 225 guards, and 80% of the prisoners are severe criminals. The prison produces and assembles electric components, makes wool sweaters, and processes gemstones.
Hefei–Fuzhou high-speed railway, is a dual-track, electrified, passenger-dedicated, high-speed rail line between Hefei and Fuzhou, the provincial capitals of Anhui and Fujian, respectively. It has a total length of 813 km (505 mi) and runs through Anhui, Jiangxi and Fujian province. Construction began on April 27, 2010 and the line was opened on 28 June 2015. The total cost of the line was about ¥109.8 billion. On this line, trains can reach top speeds of 300 kilometres per hour (186 mph), reducing the travel time by rail from Hefei to Fuzhou from fourteen to four hours. The railway is part of the future Beijing–Taipei high-speed rail corridor.
Han Xiancong is a former Chinese politician from Anhui province. He was best known for his term as the Communist Party Secretary of the cities of Anqing and Chuzhou. From 2013 to 2014 he served as the vice-chairman of the Anhui provincial People's Political Consultative Conference, a largely ceremonial legislative consultation body. He was later investigated for corruption and indicted on criminal charges of bribery.

Majiashanosaurus is an extinct genus of pachypleurosaur or alternatively a basal eosauropterygian known from the Early Triassic of Anhui Province, eastern China. It contains a single species, Majiashanosaurus discocoracoidis.
