Cheina (English: The Agony) is a 2003 Manipuri film directed by Oken Amakcham and produced by Shanti Thokchom. [1] [2] [3] It stars Gurumayum Kalpana, Khuraijam Lingjelthoibi, Wahengbam Somoraj and Thingom Pritam in the lead roles. [4] [5] The story and screenplay was written by Yumnam Rajendra and produced under the banner of Dashu Films. [6] The film got censor certificate on 30 December 2002 and was released on 18 January 2003 at Usha Cinema, Paona Bazar, Imphal. [7] [8]
Thabal, a village Pradhan, and his wife Thanil lead a happy life but long for children. Their locality sister Tharo has a love affair with Thambousana but her mother opposes their relationship. The former marries Thembung, a Brahmin, but Thambousana is unaware since he is studying outside the state. He sends letters to Tharo. She does not want to disclose her current status as she knows Thambousana's nature. So Thanil safeguards the letters for her. But, Thabal discovers them and, not understanding whose they are, fatally throttles Thanil. When Tharo claims the letters, Thabal realises they are hers. Filled with regret, he becomes depressed, which costs his life.
The movie won the Best Feature Film award at the 6th Manipur State Film Festival 2006. [9] [10]

Oken Amakcham composed the soundtrack for the film and Sarat Yumnam, R.K. Lalmani and Y. Swarnalata wrote the lyrics. The songs are titled Leinam Leinam, Punshigi Ahanba, Tanglou Thenglaba and Thabal Pharaba Ahing. [11] [12] [13]

Yaiskulgee Pakhang Angaoba is a 2011 Manipuri film written and directed by Homen D' Wai. It is produced by Premjit Naoroibam and Kenedy Naoroibam, and presented by Anita Naoroibam. It stars Gurumayum Bonny as the titular protagonist with Bala Hijam in the lead roles. The background score of the film was given by Surmani (Rishi). The film was released at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT), Imphal on 17 December 2011 and screened in different theatres of Manipur in February 2012, including Friends Talkies, Paona Bazar. The movie garnered wide critical acclaim upon its release and was a 2012 hit film of Manipur. It was re-released at Tanthapolis Cinema, Lamphel on 13 October 2024.
Matamgi Manipur is a 1972 Manipuri film and the first full-length cinema of Manipur. The movie is directed by Debkumar Bose and produced by Karam Monomohan, under the banner of K.T. Films Private Limited. The black and white film features Gurumayum Ravindra Sharma and Yengkhom Roma in the lead roles. Arambam Samarendra wrote the story and screenplay by Debkumar Bose. The film won the President's Medal at the 20th National Film Awards. It is an adaptation of Arambam Samarendra's theatrical play Tīrtha Yātrā.
Leipaklei is a 2012 Manipuri film directed and produced by Aribam Syam Sharma. It stars Leishangthem Tonthoi in the title role. The story of the film was written by Arambam Samarendra and screenplay by Arambam Ongbi Memchoubi. Leipaklei was screened on the inaugural day of 5th Guwahati Film Festival 2012. It was also screened at the 18th Kolkata International Film Festival and 14th Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) held at Jeonju, South Korea. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Manipuri at the 60th National Film Awards.

Mr. Khadang: Animals are Human is a 2017 Manipuri film directed by Chou En Lai and produced by Laishram Premila, under the banner of Anouba Maikei Productions. It stars Gurumayum Bonny in the title role. The movie won the Best Feature Film Award at the 7th SSS MANIFA 2018. It was released at Range Ground, Yaiskul on 1 October 2017. It was also premiered at Shankar Lal Auditorium, North Campus, University of Delhi, on 20 August 2017.

Lammei is a 2002 Manipuri film directed by Oken Amakcham and produced by Premjit Naoroibam and Anita Naoroibam, under the banner of Kangla Films. Denny Likmabam and Prameshwori played lead roles in the movie. The movie was made after conducting the Winter Film Workshop by Kangla Films at Hotel Excellency, Imphal. It was released formally by the titular king of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba, on 5 May 2002 and started its regular theatrical run at Friends Talkies, Paona Bazar on 22 May 2002. It is the first Manipuri video film to have a commercial screening at a theatre. Lammei also marked the beginning of a digital era in Manipuri cinema.
Sanabi is a 1995 Manipuri film written by M. K. Binodini Devi and directed by Aribam Syam Sharma. The movie stars Haorongbam Deben and R.K. Sushila in the lead roles. It was jointly produced by Doordarshan and National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Manipuri at the 43rd National Film Awards. Sanabi got selection at the International Film Festival of India, 1996 and Cairo International Film Festival, Egypt, 1996.
Oinam Gautam Singh is an Indian film director and editor who works in Manipuri films. He started his career in Manipuri cinema as an editor and later took up direction since more than a decade. One of the successful filmmakers in Manipuri Cinema, he is the recipient of many awards, including a National Film Award for his 2011 movie Phijigee Mani. Gautam has worked under eminent film personalities like Aribam Syam Sharma and Oken Amakcham. He had been a Jury Member of Indian Panorama for 45th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2014.
Lamja Parshuram is a 1974 Manipuri film directed by Aribam Syam Sharma and produced by G. Narayan Sharma for N.S. Films. The script was written by Elangbam Dinamani Singh and story by G.C. Tongbra. The movie features Kangabam Tomba in the title role, and Wahengbam Bedamani as the lead female protagonist. It was released on 24 April 1974 at Pratap Talkies, Paona Bazar. The film ran for more than 100 days and became the first Manipuri hit feature film.

Apaiba Leichil is a 2021 Manipuri film directed by Bobby Wahengbam. It is jointly produced by Wahengbam Tomba, Hanjabam Sobhananda (Bung) Sharma and Bobby Wahengbam under the banner of Third Eye Productions. The film is based on the short story Nungshibagi Saklon (Nungsitombi) by Rajmani Ayekpam. It stars Bishesh Huirem and Arun Yumnam in the lead roles. The film won three awards at the 14th Manipur State Film Awards 2022.
