Chelsea Gonzales (born June 19, 1995) is an American professional softball player of Mexican descent. She played college softball for Arizona State. She represented Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Early life

Gonzales was born to Mark and Cheryl Gonzales. She attended Rosary Academy in Fullerton, California. [1]

College career

Gonzales played college softball Arizona State. During her freshman year in 2014, she batted for a .333 average, with nine doubles, eight home runs, and 45 RBI. During the 2014 NCAA Division I softball tournament, she became the first Sun Devil to homer in three consecutive postseason games. Following the season she was named a top-25 finalist for the NFCA National Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 All-Freshman team. [2] [3] During her sophomore year in 2015, she finished the season ranking fourth on the team with a .518 slugging percentage, and 11 home runs, and fifth with 55 total hits. [1] Following the season she was named to the All Pac-12 Second-team. [4]

During her junior year in 2016, she posted a .339 batting average, .669 slugging percentage, 51 hits, six doubles, 12 home runs, and 47 RBI. Following the season she was again named to the All Pac-12 Second-team. [5] During her senior year she posted a .353 batting average, with 53 hits, 12 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs and 49 RBI. She led the team in batting average, and extra-base hits, and ranked second on the team in hits. [1] Following the season she was named to the All Pac-12 First-team. [6] She finished her career ranked sixth in career-home runs (44), and seventh in RBIs (183) in Arizona State history. [1]

Professional career

Gonzales spent one season playing for the Cleveland Comets during the 2019 season. [7]

Coaching career

Gonzales served as a graduate assistant coach at Arizona State in 2018. [8] She has served as assistant coach for South Mountain Community College softball team since 2020. [9]

International career

Gonzales has been a member of Mexico women's national softball team since 2017. She represented Mexico at the 2019 Pan American Games. [9] She represented Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics and placed fourth in the tournament. [7] [10]

Lowe played with National Pro Fastpitch's USSSA Pride for six seasons, winning three titles and being named 2012 Player of the Year, before officially retiring in 2015.

Tammy Kay Williams is an American, former collegiate four-time All-American, four-time professional All-Star softball player and coach. She played her natural position at shortstop from 2006 to 2009 at Northwestern, as well as the Team USA and Chicago Bandits softball team. She owns Northwestern' softball team all-time career records in batting average, home runs, hits and total bases. She helped lead the Wildcats to a national runner up finish in the 2006 Women's College World Series. Williams was drafted tenth overall by the Chicago Bandits in the 2009 NPF Draft, winning two Cowles Cup championships in 2011 and 2015. She later worked as a sports broadcaster for the Big Ten and an assistant softball coach at Northern Illinois.

Kaitlin Elizabeth Cochran is an American, former collegiate four-time first team All-American, retired softball player. She attended Rosary High School and Arizona State University from 2006 to 2009, where she won the 2008 Women's College World Series title. Also with United States women's national softball team, she won four World Cup of Softball crowns. She holds various records for the Sun Devils in the Pac-12 Conference. She was drafted first overall in the National Pro Fastpitch but elected not to play. She is also one of nine NCAA Division I players to bat .400 with 200 RBIs, 50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for a career.

Krista Lynn Donnenwirth is an All-American softball player. She attended Capistrano Valley High School. After graduating from high school, she went on to attend Arizona State University, where she plays shortstop and third base.

Jenny Dalton-Hill is an American former collegiate All-American softball player and current sports commentator. She played for the Arizona Wildcats from 1993 to 1996 where she won three Women's College World Series championships. Having also played baseball, Dalton-Hill is a former member of the Colorado Silver Bullets and United States women's national baseball team, earning a bronze medal at the 2010 Women's Baseball World Cup. She holds the career Pac-12 and NCAA Division I records in RBIs. She is the first and one of nine NCAA players to hit .400 with 200 RBIs, 50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage in her career.

Sierra Joy Romero is a Mexican American professional softball player. She formerly was a volunteer assistant softball coach for the Oregon Ducks softball team. She holds the Big Ten Conference career Triple Crown, along with the total bases and slugging percentage records, simultaneously leading all of the NCAA Division I in runs scored and grand slams. Amanda Sánchez is an American softball player of Mexican descent and member of the Mexico women's national softball team. She represented Team Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Suzannah Lillian Brookshire-González is an American former collegiate softball player. She played for three universities from 2017 to 2021, the San Jose State Spartans, Sacramento State Hornets and the Long Beach State 49ers. Brookeshire was a power hitter joining an elite NCAA Division I club with her career 62 home runs and 201 RBIs. She represented Team Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they placed fourth in their first appearance.
