Tatyana Forbes (born June 27,1997) is an American professional softball player for the Smash It Sports Vipers of the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). She is also a member of Mexico women's national softball team,and competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Forbes began her collegiate career at Coastal Carolina. During her freshman year in 2016,she finished fifth in the country with a .479 batting average,recorded 34 multi-hit games and had at least one hit in 48 games on the season. She broke the conference and school records for hits in a season with 104. Following an outstanding season she was named a top ten finalist for NFCA National Freshman of the Year,Big South Freshman of the Year,First-Team All-Big South,and Big South All-Freshman Team. [1]
During her sophomore year in 2017,she led the Sun Belt Conference with a .406 batting average,and ranked second in the league with 35 stolen bases and fourth with 67 hits. Following the season she was named First-Team All-Sun Belt Conference. [1] She transferred to FIU for her junior year. [2] During her junior year in 2017,she appeared in 38 games,where she posted a .315 batting average with 37 hits and eight RBI,and accumulated 51 total putouts and assists. [1]
On July 18,2019,Forbes transferred to NC State. [3] During her senior year in 2020,Forbes led the nation with 43 hits,while also ranking fifth in batting average (.538),and eighth in on-base percentage (.593),before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [4] During her redshirt senior year in 2021,she led the team with 51 hits,and a team-best 15 multi-hit games. During the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference softball tournament,she led all batters with three hits during the tournament,while going 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI in NC State's first round ACC Tournament win against North Carolina. She was subsequently named to the ACC All-Tournament team. [5] She finished her Wolfpack career ranked as NC State's career batting average leader (.423) and career on-base percentage leader (.484). On May 25,2022,Forbes signed a professional contract with the Smash It Sports Vipers of the Women's Professional Fastpitch league. [6]
Forbes represented Mexico at the 2018 Women's Softball World Championship,starting all eight games in left field. She represented Mexico at the USA Softball International Cup,where she hit .250 and recorded six hits with five runs scored in nine games. [7] She represented Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Forbes was born to Marie and Robert Forbes and has two brothers,Robert and Bryan. Her father and uncle,Johnny,played professional soccer in Los Angeles. From 2017 to 2024,she was dating former professional baseball player,Eduardo Silva,who is now a firefighter for the City of Pembroke Pines,Florida. Her current relationship status and dating life has since been kept private. [9]
Stacey "Nuvey" Nuveman-Deniz is an American softball coach and former player who is the head coach of the San Diego State Aztecs softball team at San Diego State University (SDSU). She played for the UCLA Bruins at the catcher position on-and-off from 1997 to 2002,winning a national championship in 1999. She also won two Olympic gold medals and one silver medal for Team USA.
Jessica Ofelia Mendoza is an American sportscaster and former softball player. Currently,she serves as an analyst for ESPN's coverage of Major League Baseball and Los Angeles Dodgers coverage on Spectrum SportsNet LA. As a softball outfielder,Mendoza was a collegiate four-time First Team All-American and two-time Olympic medalist. Mendoza played from 1999 to 2002 at Stanford and was a member of the United States women's national softball team from 2004 to 2010. She won a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. She played professionally in National Pro Fastpitch and was named 2011 Player of the Year and currently ranks in the top 10 for career batting average and slugging percentage.
Natasha Renee Watley is an American,former collegiate four-time first-team All-American,two-time medal winning Olympian,retired seven-time pro-All-Star softball player. Watley played college softball at UCLA,and helped the Bruins win a national championship. She represented the United States women's national softball team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She won a gold medal,and again at the 2008 Summer Olympics,and won a silver medal.
Angela Tincher O'Brien is an American,former collegiate All-American,retired professional All-Star softball pitcher and coach. She most recently served as the pitching coach at Virginia Tech. She was a 2008 first-round draft selection for the NPF Akron Racers. She is a graduate of James River High School and a 2008 graduate of Virginia Tech. In 2013,she was hired as Virginia Tech's softball pitching coach where she owns numerous school records. She is the ACC career leader in wins,strikeouts,shutouts,innings pitched,strikeout ratio and no-hitters,while also ranking in several records for the NCAA Division I,where she is one of five pitchers to achieve 100 wins,1,000 strikeouts,an ERA under 1.00 and average double-digit strikeouts for her career.
Kelly Sue Kretschman is an American former nine-time professional All-Star softball outfielder and current head coach for the USSSA Pride of the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). Kretschman played college softball at Alabama where she is the career leader in doubles and total bases. As a member of the United States women's national softball team,she won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She also played in the National Pro Fastpitch with four teams including her longest tenure with the USSSA Pride;where she is the all-time career leader in RBIs,hits,doubles and base on balls. She also owns numerous records for the Tide and is one of select NCAA Division I players to bat .400 with 300 hits,200 runs and 100 stolen bases for her career.
Sierra Joy Romero is a Mexican American professional softball player. She formerly was a volunteer assistant softball coach for the Oregon Ducks softball team. She played college softball for Michigan from 2013 to 2016,where she set numerous records and was a four-time All-American. She holds the Big Ten Conference career Triple Crown,along with the total bases and slugging percentage records,simultaneously leading all of the NCAA Division I in runs scored and grand slams. She was the inaugural winner of both the espnW Softball Player of the Year in 2015 and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2016,when she also took home the Honda Sports Award Softball Player of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year awards. She is one of nine NCAA players to hit .400 with 200 RBIs,50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for her career and was named the #5 Greatest College Softball Player.
Amanda Marie Chidester is an American former professional softball player and current assistant coach for Michigan. She was named National Pro Fastpitch Player of the Year for the Chicago Bandits in 2019. She has been a member of the USA Softball Women's National Team on-and-off since 2012. She played college softball at Michigan from 2009 to 2012 and was named First Team All-Big Ten three of her seasons. She was twice selected as the Big Ten Conference Player of the Year and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American. Chidester represented Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal. In 2021,Chidester played her second season in the Athletes Unlimited Softball league and placed second in individual points earned.
Dallas Jade Escobedo is a Mexican-American,former collegiate All-American,Olympian,professional softball pitcher and coach. She played college softball for Arizona State in the from 2011 to 2014,where she led them to the 2011 Women's College World Series title and ranks in several pitching categories for both institutions. She is currently the pitching coach at Cal State Fullerton.
Kelly Katlyn Barnhill is an American professional softball pitcher. She played college softball for the Florida Gators from 2016 to 2019,earning All-American honors during her tenure with the team. She was named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year,Honda Sports Award,and espnW Player of the Year in 2017. She is the career no hitters (7),strikeouts,strikeout ratio (10.5) and WHIP leader for the Gators. She also ranks in career strikeout ratio for both the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Division I.
William Bradley Wilson is an American professional baseball shortstop in the San Francisco Giants organization. He played college baseball for the NC State Wolfpack. He was selected with the 15th overall pick of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Angels.

She played college softball at Arizona from 2017 to 2021 where she was twice named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-American. She has been a member of the United States women's national softball team since 2019 and helped them win a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She played in Athletes Unlimited Softball where she won the 2022 championship as the top individual points leader.
Jocelyn Aloha Pumehana Alo is an American professional softball player for the Oklahoma City Spark of the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). She played college softball for the Oklahoma Sooners. Alo was named 2018 NFCA National Freshman of the Year,and named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022. She is the NCAA Division I career leader in home runs. Alo was drafted first overall by the Smash It Vipers in the inaugural WPF draft.
Nicole Rangel Mendes is an American professional softball player for the New York Rise of the Association of Fastpitch Professionals (APF) and is a member of Mexico women's national softball team. She played college softball at Oklahoma where she helped lead the Sooners to four consecutive Women's College World Series appearances from 2017 to 2021,and won the national championship as a freshman in 2017 and redshirt senior in 2021. She represented Team Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is also a softball analyst for ESPN.
Sashel Aitiana Palacios Barajas is an American softball catcher of Mexican descent. After playing college softball for Arizona State,she embarked on a professional career in 2018. She also helped the Mexico national team qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics,which finished the tournament in fourth place.
Megan Ki'llani Faraimo is an American professional softball pitcher. She played college softball at UCLA from 2019 to 2023,where she was named a three-time All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Suzannah Lillian Brookshire-González is an American professional softball player for the Smash It Sports Vipers of the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). She played for college softball for three universities from 2017 to 2021,the San Jose State Spartans,Sacramento State Hornets and the Long Beach State 49ers. Brookeshire was a power hitter joining an elite NCAA Division I club with her career 62 home runs and 201 RBIs. She represented Team Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they placed fourth in their first appearance.
