Maryland is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It borders Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. to its south and west; Pennsylvania to its north; and Delaware and the Atlantic Ocean to its east. With a total land area of 12,407 square miles (32,130 km2), Maryland is the 8th-smallest state by land area, but its population of 6,177,224 ranks it the 18th-most populous state and the 5th-most densely populated. Baltimore is the largest city in the state, and the capital is Annapolis. The western portion of the state contains numerous stretches of the Appalachian Mountains, while the central portion is primarily composed of the Piedmont. The eastern side of the state makes up the Chesapeake Bay, sharing the border with Delaware, and the southeastern side borders the Atlantic Ocean. Among its occasional nicknames are Old Line State, the Free State, and the Chesapeake Bay State. It is named after Henrietta Maria, the French-born queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland, who was known then in England as Mary.

Cumberland is a city in and the county seat of Allegany County, Maryland, United States. At the 2020 census, the city had a population of 19,076. Located on the Potomac River, Cumberland is a regional business and commercial center for Western Maryland and the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. It is the primary city of the Cumberland metropolitan area, which had 95,044 residents in 2020.
Chesapeake is a village in Lawrence County, Ohio, United States. The population was 691 as of the 2020 census. It lies across the Ohio River from Huntington, West Virginia, at the mouth of Symmes Creek.

The district covers 79 square miles. The Cleveland district is the second largest PreK-12 district in the state, with a 2017–2018 enrollment of about 38,949. State Route 7 (SR 7), formerly known as Inter-county Highway 7 until 1921 and State Highway 7 in 1922, is a north–south state highway in the southern and eastern portions of the U.S. state of Ohio. At about 336 miles (541 km) in length, it is the longest state route in Ohio. Its southern terminus is an interchange with U.S. Route 52 (US 52) just west of Chesapeake. Its northern terminus also serves as the eastern terminus of SR 531 in Conneaut. The path of SR 7 stays within five miles (8.0 km) of the Ohio River for the southern portion, with the river being visible from much of the route. The road also remains within 10 miles (16 km) of the Pennsylvania state line for the northern portion.

Chesapeake Senior High School (CHS) is one of two high schools in Maryland by that name. The other is the Chesapeake High School of Baltimore County. It is one of two public high schools in Pasadena, the other being Northeast High School, Chesapeake's rival school. Chesapeake opened in 1976 due to overcrowding at Northeast. It serves students in grades 9–12. The school serves the local feeder system, encompassing Chesapeake Bay Middle School and the respective five elementary schools that feed into it. The school has two floors and includes a football field, several soccer and other athletic fields, and a variety of gymnasiums, including a smaller dance studio.
