The term Chinese Riviera is used for several premier tourist destinations in China (including Hong Kong and Macau) near the Canton River:
Hainan is the smallest and southernmost province of the People's Republic of China (PRC), consisting of various islands in the South China Sea. Hainan Island, the largest and most populous island in China, makes up the vast majority (97%) of the province. The name means "south of the sea", reflecting the island's position south of the Qiongzhou Strait, which separates it from Leizhou Peninsula and the Chinese mainland.
Haikou, formerly Hoikow, is the capital and most populous city of the Chinese province of Hainan. Haikou city is situated on the northern coast of Hainan, by the mouth of the Nandu River. The northern part of the city is on the Haidian Island, which is separated from the main part of Haikou by the Haidian River, a branch of the Nandu. Administratively, Haikou is a prefecture-level city, comprising four districts, and covering 2,280 square kilometres (880 sq mi). There are 2,046,189 inhabitants in the built-up area, all living within the four urban districts of the city.

Haikou Meilan International Airport is the airport serving Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province, China. It is located 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of the city center and was opened in 1999, replacing the old Dayingshan Airport located along what is now the city's Guoxing Avenue. The airport is operated by Hainan Meilan International Airport Company Limited.
China's National Highway G010, also called Tongsan Expressway, was an abolished national highway in China, which ran from Tongjiang in Heilongjiang to Sanya in Hainan. It was 5,700 km (3,500 mi) in length, the longest China National Highway at the time.
Sanya Bay is one of the five major bays in Sanya City, Hainan Province, China. Located at the southern coast of Hainan, directly south of Sanya city, it has a 22 km beach. It is bordered by a peninsula at the east side. Within the bay are two islands called Xidao and Dongdao. The artificial resort Phoenix Island is located in the bay near the eastern end of the beach.

Língshuǐ Li Autonomous County is an autonomous county in Hainan, China. It is one of the six autonomous counties of Hainan with a postal code of 572400, and in 1999 a population of 318,691, largely made up of the Li people. Notably the beautiful Niuling (牛岭) mountain delimits the tropical area of the county. A well-known natural sight, part of the Chinese Riviera is Xiangshuiwan or Perfume bay (香水湾). Monkey Island, a popular tourist destination located in Lingshui County, is a state-protected nature reserve for macaques. Lingshui is also home to the military base where a U.S. airplane crew were held during the Hainan Island incident in 2001. In September 2010, officials signed and scheduled the construction of the largest sea world theme park in Asia. The Lingshui Li'an Harbor Ocean Theme Park signing ceremony took place at the Narada Resort in Perfume Bay and the opening is planned for 2013.
The Hainan eastern ring high-speed railway is a high-speed railway on Hainan Island. It is operated by China Railway Guangzhou Group. Opened in December 2010, the railway links the capital Haikou at the northern end of the province, and goes alongside the eastern coastline to reach the resort city of Sanya in the southernmost region of the island. The railway share the end points with the Hainan western ring high-speed railway, which together creates a closed loop spanning 653 kms, as well as the world’s first circular high-speed railway, and allows passengers to travel around Hainan island in about 3 hours.
Sea Turtles 911 is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of sea turtles. The organization was formed in Hawaii, in the United States, and operates primarily on Hainan island, China. The organization directs actions towards public education, policy change through government and academic sources, support of conservation-focused ecotourism, and the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of endangered sea turtles.
Wuzhizhou Island is located off the coast of Hainan Province, China. This 1.48 square kilometre island is situated within Haitang Bay, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Sanya, between Nanwan Monkey Island to the north, and Yalong Bay to the south.
The Mandarin Oriental, Sanya is a luxury hotel and resort located in Sanya City on the southeastern coast of the island of Hainan, China. The 296-room resort opened in 2009 and is managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The hotel contains 10 restaurants and bars as well as the 3,200 m2 (34,000 sq ft) spa at Mandarin Oriental, Sanya.

Boundary Island (Chinese:分界洲) is an island in Lingshui County, Hainan, China, located just off the south-east coast of Hainan Island, between Lingshui and Wanning, in Riyue Bay at 18.57864°N 110.195381°E.

Sanya Hongtangwan International Airport is an airport planned to be built to serve the city of Sanya in Hainan Province, China. It would be located on an artificial island in Hongtang Bay, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Sanya. Construction began in 2017, and the airport was expected to be opened in December 2020. However the same year, the project was suspended pending a new environmental assessment following complaints from Chinese environmental agency Friends of Nature. In 2020, part of the construction of the artificial island was deemed illegal, and further land reclamation was halted. In the new plans, the land reclamation was reduced by 0.9 km2 (0.35 sq mi).
