Pathum Wan is one of the fifty districts (khet) of Bangkok, Thailand. It lies just beyond the old city boundary of Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem, and was a rural area on the eastern outskirts of the city when royal villas were built there in the late nineteenth century. The district was officially established in 1915, and covers an area of 8.37 square kilometres (3.23 sq mi). A large part of the district area is taken up by the campus of Chulalongkorn University and the green expanses of Lumphini Park and the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. By the turn of the 20th–21st centuries, the district had become known as the modern-day city centre, home to the prominent shopping areas of Siam and Ratchaprasong.

Saphan Khwai station is a BTS skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Phaya Thai District, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Phahonyothin Road near Saphan Khwai intersection, the dense trade area with many shops, fresh markets and apartments, at the front of Saphan Khwai market and Paolo Memorial Hospital. Big C Supercenter and Thai Philatelic Museum at Sam Sen Nai post office are located to the south of the station.
Victory Monument station is a BTS skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Ratchathewi District, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Phaya Thai Road to the south of the Victory Monument, one of the landmark and major traffic intersection of Bangkok. The station is linked to all four corners of the traffic circle by a skybridge which almost traverses around the monument. There are many food stalls, clothing shops and malls around the station, as the monument is one of the largest BMTA bus stops in Bangkok and a large van terminal for travel to the suburbs and provinces around the capital.
Ratchathewi station is a BTS skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Ratchathewi District, Bangkok, Thailand. In the future, it will become an interchange station for the MRT Orange Line following the opening of the western extension in 2030. The station is located on Phaya Thai Road to the south of Ratchathewi intersection, about 10 minutes walk to Pantip Plaza on the way to Pratunam market. The station is also linked by a skybridge to Asia Hotel, and by escalators and stairs to a recently created area known as Co-Co Walk that houses several relatively low cost restaurants and bars used mostly by the locals, some "antique" shops, and the one remaining software vendor displaced from Hollywood Street that occupied the rear of the site that formerly hosted a theatre/cinema; Co-Co Walk adjoins the Hollywood Arcade that appears to no longer function as retail premises.
Sala Daeng station is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Silom line in Bang Rak District, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Si Lom Road to the southwest of Sala Daeng Intersection. It is surrounded by financial center along Si Lom Road with towers and skyscrapers, and also entertainment area of Patpong and Thaniya.
Udom Suk station is a BTS skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Bang Na District, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Sukhumvit Road at Soi Udom Suk, to the north of Bang Na intersection. It is a part of the 5.52 km skytrain extension from On Nut to Bearing station opened in 2011.
Asok station is a BTS Skytrain station on the Sukhumvit Line in Watthana and Khlong Toei Districts, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Sukhumvit Road at Asok Montri Intersection, with an interchange to MRT Blue Line at Sukhumvit station. Around the station, there are many hotels and facilities for foreign tourists and business people. The area to the west is a continuation of the Nana entertainment zone, and to the east is a dense commercial area with numerous skyscrapers.
Phloen Chit station is a BTS skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Pathum Wan District, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located on Phloen Chit Road at Phloen Chit intersection to Wireless Road next to the beginning of Sukhumvit Road. It is surrounded by hotels, skyscrapers, office towers and many embassies especially the British and American embassies on Wireless Road. It is connected by skywalk to Central Embassy.
Sala Daeng is the name of the intersection and neighbourhood at the beginning of Si Lom Road in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located within Pathum Wan District, next to its border with Bang Rak, where Si Lom meets Rama IV and Ratchadamri Roads. The Thai–Japan Flyover Bridge, constructed in 1992, passes over Sala Daeng intersection, as well as the westward Henri Dunant and Sam Yan intersections, along Rama IV Road. A small street, known as Sala Daeng Road, branches off Si Lom Road and connects to the parallel Sathon Road.
Phloen Chit Road is a major road in central Bangkok. Located entirely within Lumphini Subdistrict of Pathum Wan District, it runs a short distance of 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) between Ratchaprasong Intersection and the Maenam railway branch line, forming a continuation of the westward Rama I Road and then itself continuing on to the east as Sukhumvit Road. It serves the neighbourhoods of Ratchaprasong, Chit Lom Intersection and Phloen Chit Intersection, which are home to major shopping malls, hotels and office towers. The areas are served by the Chit Lom and Phloen Chit Stations of the BTS skytrain, whose Sukhumvit Line runs above Phloen Chit Road.
Central Embassy is a shopping mall in Bangkok. A project of the Thai conglomerate Central Group, it was constructed on the site of the former British Embassy gardens on Phloen Chit Road.
