Chittagong Abahani Reserves and Youth are the reserve team and youth system of the Chittagong based Bangladesh Premier League club Chittagong Abahani Ltd. [1] [2] The youth system consist of an under-18 men's team that currently competes in the BFF U18 Football League, the top-tier league of youth football system in Bangladesh organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation. [3] [4] The under-18 team previously used to play in BFF U-18 Football Tournament. The reserve team, officially known as Chittagong Abahani Limited Junior, competes in the regional league system of Chittagong. [12] [13] [14] It currently competes in CJKS-CDFA Second Division Football League, the third tier regional league of Chittagong. [15] [16] The team, sometimes referred as Abahani Limited Junior or simply as Abahani Junior, playing in the regional league since 2003–2004. [17] The squad of the reserve team built with the local players of Chittagong. [18]
Kazi Salahuddin is a Bangladeshi former football player currently serving as the president of South Asian Football Federation. He previously served as the president of Bangladesh Football Federation from 2008 to 2024. He was a member of the Shadhin Bangla Football Team, which played across India to raise awareness about the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He played for and captained the Bangladesh national team, retiring in 1983. Salahuddin is the first football player from the country to play abroad in the professional league in Hong Kong and is considered to be Bangladesh's first professional sports athlete.
