Christopher David James Dent (born 20 January 1991) is an English cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman who plays for Gloucestershire. He was born in Bristol.
Dent played for Gloucestershire at Under-15 and Under-17 level as a member of their academy squad,while playing club cricket for Thornbury in the West of England Premier League. Dent played for the Gloucestershire Second XI from 2007,before signing his first professional contract with the club in August 2009. [1]
Dent made his List A début in September 2009,against Nottinghamshire. He did not bat or bowl in the match,as Gloucestershire reached their winning target of 58 runs with nine wickets to spare.
In 2009 Dent was selected for the England Under-19 tour of Bangladesh,and in January 2010 was a member of the England squad at the Under 19 Cricket World Cup.
Dent played in nearly all of Gloucestershire's games for 2013,averaging 45.12 with the bat scoring a total of 1,128 runs,the first time he had scored 1000 runs in a season.
At the start of the 2018 season,Dent was appointed club captain for both the County Championship and the One Day Cup competitions. [2]
In April 2022,in the 2022 County Championship,Dent scored his 10,000th run in first-class cricket. [3]

Alec James Stewart is an English former cricketer,and former captain of the England cricket team,who played Test cricket and One Day Internationals as a right-handed wicket-keeper-batsman. He is the fifth-most-capped English cricketer ever in Test matches and third-most-capped in One Day Internationals (ODIs),having played in 133 Tests and 170 ODIs. An attacking batsman in tests against the new ball,Stewart is regarded as one of England's greatest openers. Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram considers him one of the most difficult batsmen he ever bowled to. He was a part of the English squad which finished as runners-up at the 1992 Cricket World Cup.

William Thomas Stuart Porterfield is an Irish former cricketer and a former captain of the Ireland cricket team. He played first-class cricket for Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. A left-handed batsman,he played for Ireland from 2006 to 2022,and has captained Ireland at all levels from Under-13 and is considered one of the greatest Irish cricketers of all time. During Afghanistan T20I series in March 2017,he passed 1,000 runs in T20Is and became the first player from Ireland to do so. In May 2018,he was named as the captain of Ireland's squad for their first ever Test match,against Pakistan. He announced his retirement from international cricket on 16 June 2022.
