He is five-time Olympic gold medalist in relay events, a two-time World Championship individual gold medalist for the 50-meter freestyle, and a former world record-holder in two events. Jager set the 50-meter freestyle world record on six occasions during his career. He held this record for over ten years from August 1989 to June 2000.
Xavier Marchand is a former French medley swimmer, who competed in the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. He won the silver medal in the men's 200 metres individual medley event at the 1998 World Aquatics Championships in Perth, Australia.
Christophe Kalfayan is a French retired male freestyle swimmer, who represented his native country in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1988. He specialised in the 50m and 100m freestyle. He twice won the silver medal in the men's 50 m freestyle at the European LC Championships (50 m): in 1993 and 1995.
Roy Allen Saari was an American swimmer and water polo player. He qualified for the 1964 Summer Olympics in both disciplines, and chose swimming, as the Olympic rules of the time did not allow him to compete in two sports. He won a gold medal as a member of the first-place U.S. team in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay, setting a new world record in the final with teammates Steve Clark, Gary Ilman and Don Schollander (7:52.1). Individually he earned a silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley (4:47.1). He also advanced to the finals of the 400-meter freestyle and 1,500-meter freestyle, placing fourth and seventh, respectively. Before the Olympics Saari became the first person to break the 17 minute barrier over 1500 m, but in the Olympic final he was suffering from a cold and clocked a mere 17:29.2.

Petrič was the youngest participant at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He also won a gold medal on 400 m freestyle in 1981. In the same year, Petrič received the Golden Badge award for best athlete of Yugoslavia. He is the coach at swimming club Fužinar Ravne.

Before his retirement in 2006, Buhler trained for the Langenthal Swimming Club under his personal coach Michel Tavcar.
Christophe Lim Wen Ying is a Mauritian former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Lim competed for Mauritius in the men's 100 m freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He received a Universality place from FINA, in an entry time of 54.14. He challenged six other swimmers in heat two, including 15-year-olds Ragi Edde of Lebanon and Dawood Youssef of Bahrain. He raced to a third-place finish in 54.33, just 0.19 seconds below his entry standard and 0.78 behind leader Gregory Arkhurst of Côte d'Ivoire. Lim failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed sixty-sixth overall in the prelims. He also has 3 children, 1 who is a very fast swimmer and dominates Western Australian Swimming.

Léon Marchand is a French swimmer. He is the world record holder in the long course 400 metres individual medley; the Olympic record holder in the 200 metres butterfly, the 200 metres breaststroke, the 200 metres individual medley and the 400 metres individual medley; and the French record holder in the long course 200 metre individual medley, 200 metre butterfly and 200 metre breaststroke. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, he won gold medals in the 200 m medley, 200 metre breaststroke, 200 metre butterfly, and 400 metre medley. He became the fourth swimmer in Olympic history to win four individual gold medals at a single Games.
