Christopher Blevins (born March 14, 1998) is an American cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Mountain Bike Team Specialized Factory Racing. Specializing in cross-country mountain biking, Blevins has also previously competed in road cycling (for Hagens Berman Axeon) and cyclo-cross, [2] [3] before choosing to solely focus on mountain biking in preparation for the 2020 Summer Olympics. [4]
Blevins was born on March 14, 1998, in Durango, Colorado, son of Field and Priscilla [5] His father is an orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine [6] and his older sister Kaylee was also a member of the U.S. National mountain bike team. [5] He went to college in San Luis Obispo, CA graduating from Cal Poly in 2021 with a degree in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship. [7] Additionally, he teaches voluntarily spoken-word poetry in a local juvenile hall and is a lyricist of rap music. [6]
Blevins began participating in the sport of cycling at the age of five by competing in BMX races. He managed to win eight national championships in the age divisions between elementary and high school. His BMX career ended at the age of sixteen however, and by the age of twelve he had already begun to compete in both mountain bike and road cycling. He had great success from the ages of thirteen to nineteen where he won the national Cross Country championship in his age group. At sixteen he was able to win the road cycling national championship as well. [8]
When Blevins turned eighteen he won one of the most important races of the junior category in road cycling, the famous Course de la Paix. This race provided him the opportunity to join the team Axeon–Hagens Berman. In the same year, he signed another contract with the Specialized Racing team to participate in the U23 World Cross-Country Championship. In 2018 he managed to win the U23 national cyclo-cross championship. In the same age group, he finished 2nd in the World Cross-Country Championship and also won a stage of the Tour of the Gila. In 2019, aiming for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, he decided to dedicate himself to mountain biking. [8] At the 2020 U23 World Cross-Country Championship he finished 2nd and after the postponing of the Olympic Games due to COVID-19, he signed a 2021 contract with Trinity Racing. [1] [9]
In August 2021, he became the inaugural men's cross-country short track world champion, taking the title at the 2021 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy. [10] He also won his first UCI XCO World Cup round, in Snowshoe, West Virginia, that year.
He won the 2023 Cape Epic alongside Matthew Beers. He opened up his 2024 season with a win in the Low Gap Hopper gravel race in California. [11] In April, he won the first round of the UCI XCO World Cup in Mairiporã, Brazil. [12]

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is a French multi-discipline bicycle racer, who rides for UCI Mountain Bike team Ineos Grenadiers in cross-country cycling. Ferrand-Prévot has also competed in road bicycle racing and cyclo-cross during her career, winning the world title in each discipline. During the 2015 season, aged just 23, she became the first person ever – in the history of cycling – to simultaneously hold the World road title, World cyclo-cross title and World cross-country mountain bike title.
Jolanda Neff is a Swiss cyclist, who primarily rides in the cross-country cycling and cyclo-cross disciplines, for the Trek Factory Racing team. She won the gold medal in the women's cross-country event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Evie Richards is a British cyclist from Malvern, Worcestershire, England who specialises in mountain bike and cyclo-cross racing. She was the women's cross-country world champion at the 2021 Mountain Bike World Championships. Previously, Richards had been under-23 cyclo-cross world champion at the 2016 and 2018 World Championships. In 2022, Richards added a first Commonwealth Games gold in cross-country mountain bike to her palmarès.
Lars Forster is a Swiss cyclo-cross and cross-country mountain biker. He represented his nation in the men's elite race at the 2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, and in the men's cross-country race at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He was on the start list for the 2018 Cross-country European Championship and he finished 1st.
Victor Koretzky is a French cross-country mountain biker and road cyclist, who last rode for UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe. He won the junior cross-country world championship in 2011. Competing with the French team he won the cross-country team relay world championship in 2011, 2015, and 2016.
Jenny Rissveds is a Swedish cross-country mountainbike rider. She won the gold medal in women's cross country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Mathias Flückiger is a Swiss mountain bike racer. He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and 2020 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal. His brother Lukas is also a cyclist. In June 2022, he tested positive for zeranol during the Swiss national championships, which he won. He was temporarily suspended on 19 August 2022. He appealed the decision, and in December, his suspension was lifted.
Luca Braidot is an Italian professional mountain bike and cyclo-cross cyclist. He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he finished 7th. At the 2018 European Mountain Bike Championships, he finished 2nd in the cross-country event.
Henrique Avancini is a Brazilian mountain bike racer. He is a two-time winner of the UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships, 17 times winner at the National Cross-country cycling championship, and four times Pan American champion. Partnered with German rider Manuel Fumic at the 2016 and 2017 Absa Cape Epic, he won the prologue time trial and stage 1 in 2017, and the stage 7 finale in 2016.
Alan Hatherly is a South African professional mountain bike racer. He won the bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics finishing with a time of 1:26:33, the first African and non-European to win a medal in the men's event.
Jordan Sarrou is a French mountain biking competitor, who currently rides for UCI Mountain Bike team Absolute–Absalon–BMC. He won the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships at Leogang, Austria in 2020. He has also competed in road cycling infrequently, finishing third in the 2014 Ruota d'Oro.
Filippo Colombo is a Swiss cross-country mountain biker and road cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI ProTeam Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.
