Chupungnyeong is a mountain pass between Yeongdong-gun,Chungcheongbuk-do and Gimcheon-si,Gyeongsangbuk-do in South Korea.
It lies in the Sobaek Mountains,and it was a border between Jinhan and Mahan in Proto–Three Kingdoms period and Silla and Baekje in Three Kingdoms period. Now it is a border between Chungcheongbuk-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do,Hoseo and Yeongnam. Korail Gyeongbu Line,Route 4 and Gyeongbu Expressway pass through it,and it is the highest point in Gyeongbu Line. There is a meteorological observatory controlled by Daejeon Area Meteorological Administration. As a name of administrative divisions,it is one of myeon in Yeongdong-gun and ri in Chupungnyeong-myeon.
Chupungnyeong has a humid continental climate (Köppen climate classification Dwa) with very warm summers and cold winters. Precipitation is much higher in summer than in winter.

Gangneung is a municipal city in the province of Gangwon-do,on the east coast of South Korea. It has a population of 213,658. Gangneung is the economic centre of the Yeongdong region of Gangwon-do. Gangneung has many tourist attractions,such as Jeongdongjin,a very popular area for watching the sun rise,and Gyeongpo Beach. There is an ROKAF airbase south of downtown Gangneung that formerly doubled as a civil airport.

Bonghwa County (Bonghwa-gun) is a county in North Gyeongsang Province,South Korea. It lies inland,at the northern edge of the province,and borders Gangwon province to the north. To the east it is bounded by Yeongyang and Uljin counties,to the south by Andong,and to the west by Yeongju. The county is ringed by the Taebaek and Sobaek Mountains,the highest of which is Taebaek-san itself,at more than 1500 meters above sea level. Because of this mountainous inland location,Bonghwa has a colder climate than most of the province,with an average annual temperature of 10 °C (50 °F).
Uiseong County (Uiseong-gun) is a county in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province,South Korea. Located near the center of the province,it is bounded by Andong on the north,Cheongsong on the east,Gunwi County on the south,and Sangju and Yecheon on the west. As in most parts of Korea,most of the land is vacant and forested;only about 19% of the county's area is farmland. The county is largely rural,with an economy dominated by agriculture;the only urbanized area is the county seat,Uiseong-eup.
Yangsan is a city in Gyeongsangnam-do Province,South Korea.
Apo-eup is an eup in Gimcheon,Gyeongsangbuk-do,central South Korea. It has an area of 53.48 km². Although it contains several low peaks,the land of Apo-eup also contains a great deal of flat and fertile floodplain;local agriculture is dominated by rice cultivation. The small Gamcheon river runs along the eastern border. As of January 2005,the population is 8,799,and has fallen somewhat since 1995. It is divided among 30 ri.
