Clemente "Chito" Agosto (born in November 6,1974) is a Puerto Rican politician and the current mayor of Toa Alta. Agosto is affiliated with the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) and has served as mayor since 2013. [1]
Agosto has an associate degree in Business Administration from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. [2] He started his professional career as an entrepreneur,and was owner of various restaurants.
Dorado is a town and municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico,15 miles (24 km) west of San Juan and is located in the northern region of the island,bordering the Atlantic Ocean,north of Toa Alta,east of Vega Alta,and west of Toa Baja. Dorado is subdivided into five barrios and Dorado Pueblo. It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. During the early 18th century,there were already mentions of a "Sitio de Dorado" in some San Juan registers. Since the beginning of the Spanish colonial period and until 1831,Dorado existed as a barrio of the town of Toa Baja. Over several years,the ward grew and established its own town center called the "new pueblo" to differentiate itself from Toa Baja,which became known as the "old pueblo." Over several years,the barrios that currently make up Dorado grew and the people of the "new pueblo" wanted to separate themselves from Toa Baja.
Toa Alta is a town and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the northern coast of the island,north of Naranjito;south of Dorado and Toa Baja;east of Vega Alta and Corozal;and west of Bayamón. Toa Alta is spread over eight barrios and Toa Alta Pueblo. It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo metropolitan statistical area. There are nine barrios in Toa Alta and altogether in 2020 had a population of 66,852. Río de la Plata,is a large river that runs through Toa Alta. Toa Alta celebrates its patron saint festival in May.
Toa Baja is a town and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the northern coast,north of Toa Alta and Bayamón;east of Dorado;and west of Cataño. Toa Baja is spread over five barrios,including Toa Baja Pueblo. Toa Baja is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. Toa Baja is located fifteen minutes by car from San Juan and two hours from Ponce.
The La Plata River is the longest river in Puerto Rico. It is located in the north coast of the island. It flows from south to north,and drains into the Atlantic Ocean about 11 miles (18 km) west of San Juan. The mouth of the river is a resort area with white sandy beaches.
Manuel Egozcue y Cintrón was a businessman and a prominent politician in Spain and Puerto Rico during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. After completing university,he emigrated to Puerto Rico,then an overseas province of Spain,and quickly became prominent in its business circles.

Puerto Rico Highway 142 (PR-142) is a north–south road that connects the northern region of Puerto Rico with the municipality of Corozal. With a length of about 8.2 kilometers (5.1 mi),PR-142 crosses the municipalities of Dorado,Toa Alta and Corozal,extending from PR-2 in Dorado to PR-159 near downtown Corozal.
Puerto Rico Highway 159 (PR-159) is the main road from Morovis to Toa Alta,passing through the municipality of Corozal in Puerto Rico. This road begins in downtown Morovis,from its intersection with PR-155 and PR-6623 to its junction with PR-165 in Toa Alta. It is about 21 km (13 mi) long.
Tomás Rivera Morales, simply known as "Maso Rivera",was a Puerto Rican musician and a major exponent of Puerto Rico's Jíbaro music. Rivera composed over 1,000 instrumental compositions for the Cuatro,Puerto Rico's national instrument.

The 2020 Puerto Rican municipal election was held on November 3,2020,to elect the mayors of the 78 municipalities of Puerto Rico,concurrently with the election of the Governor,the Resident Commissioner,the Senate,and the House of Representatives. The winners were elected to a four-year term from January 3,2021,to January 3,2025.
