An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photo album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at 33+1⁄3 rpm.
October is the second studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was released on 12 October 1981 by Island Records, and was produced by Steve Lillywhite. The album was lyrically inspired by the memberships of Bono, the Edge, and Larry Mullen Jr. in a Christian group called the Shalom Fellowship, and consequently it contains spiritual and religious themes. Their involvement with Shalom Fellowship led them to question the relationship between the Christian faith and the "rock and roll" lifestyle, and threatened to break up the band.
I Robot is the second studio album by British rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released on 8 July 1977 by Arista Records. The album draws conceptually on author Isaac Asimov's science fiction Robot stories, exploring philosophical themes regarding artificial intelligence. It was re-released on vinyl and cassette tape in 1984 and on CD in 2007.
Jesu are a British experimental metal band formed in 2003 by Justin Broadrick following the breakup of his band Godflesh. It shares its name with the last song on Hymns, the final album of Godflesh's initial run. Jesu's sound is heavily layered and textured, incorporating a diverse mix of influences. Broadrick himself has stated that "...it's very loosely speaking pop/rock/metal/electronica ... I'm intentionally writing what I consider to be coherent 'pop' songs".
Starflyer 59 is an American alternative rock band from Riverside, California that was founded in 1993 by Jason Martin, brother of Ronnie Martin of Joy Electric. While Jason Martin has written nearly all of Starflyer 59's songs, the band has included a number of different musicians over the years, including Jeff Cloud, Frank Lenz, and Richard Swift. The band's sound was initially identified as an outgrowth of the shoegaze movement of the early 1990s, but the band's music has gradually evolved to the point of little resemblance to that of its early days.

Insurgentes is the debut full-length solo album released by British musician and record producer Steven Wilson, known for being the founder and frontman of progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. The album was recorded all over the world in studios from Mexico City to Japan and Israel, between January and August 2008, and released in November 2008 as a special deluxe multi disc mail order version, with retail release to follow in February 2009. According to Wilson himself, the album contained "the most experimental song-based music [he had] made." The album is named after the Avenida de los Insurgentes, the longest avenue in Mexico City near which part of it was recorded.
Andrew Fetterly Wilkes-Krier, known professionally as Andrew W.K., is an American rock musician, singer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and actor. He is known for his combination of rock, metal and pop music and anthemic songs about partying. Raised in Michigan, Wilkes-Krier began his musical career in the mid-1990s. He performed in a number of local bands before eventually moving to New York, where he produced his first recordings under the Andrew W.K. moniker.
Sounds of the Universe is the twelfth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 17 April 2009 by Mute Records. I'm A Vagabond is a 2010 single by Andrew W.K. that was featured on the album Mother of Mankind. The song originally premiered on April 6, 2006 on a radio program called “Jonesy’s Jukebox”. He intended for the song to be on his album Close Calls with Brick Walls but it never was. The song that appeared on the radio program was not finished and Andrew stated that "there would be more versions to follow". The final song premiered on a radio show called “East Village Radio”. The song was released on the Big Scary Monsters record label on a square 7" limited to 500 copies worldwide with two songs that ended up on the re-release of Close Calls with Brick Walls. The first 100 copies came with a hand-written note from Andrew himself, including a link to download free MP3s of the three songs included on the single. A music video for the song was released on March 13, 2010.
Dinosaur Pile-Up are an English alternative rock band formed in late 2007. Hailing from Leeds, West Yorkshire. Current members are lead singer and guitarist Matt Bigland, drummer Mike Sheils and bassist Jim Cratchley. Their past members include Steve Wilson (2008-2010), Tom Dornford-May (2008-2010), Tommy Davidson (2008), Harry Johns (2010-2011), and James Sacha (2013).

The "Party All Goddamn Night" EP is the third EP by Andrew W.K., released in 2011 only in Japan. None of the songs featured on this EP had previously been released, apart from "I'm a Vagabond" which was featured on the 2010 album Mother of Mankind and was also released as a single in the UK, and "I Was Born To Love You" which had been released as a single on Japanese iTunes in January 2011.
Eleven Eleven is the third studio album by British alternative rock band Dinosaur Pile-Up. The album was produced by Tom Dalgety and was released on 16 October 2015 in Europe, 21 October 2015 in Japan and 26 August 2016 in the United States. It was supported in Japan with the release of the country-exclusive 11:11 EP, which was released on 22 July 2015 and included four tracks, including the deluxe edition bonus track. Unlike the previous album Nature Nurture, there were no bonus tracks included on the Japanese album.
You're Not Alone is the fifth studio album by American musician Andrew W.K., released on March 2, 2018 through Sony Music. It was his first album since 2009's Gundam Rock, which marks the longest gap between his studio albums.
