Clounmacon are a Gaelic football team in north County Kerry in Ireland. They play in Division 5 of the county league. Clounmacon players also participate in the Kerry Senior Football Championship with the divisional side Feale Rangers.

History

The club was founded in 1898. Clounmacon played Ballylongford on 29 October in their first game. The final score was Clounmacon 0–6, Ballylongford 1–2. The club won its only North Kerry Senior Football Championship in 1954 when they beat Tarbert in the final, they made the finals in 1955 and 1957 but lost to Duagh and Listowel Emmets. [1]

Camp has the proud distinction of having the most All-Ireland medals per head of population of any village in Ireland. There are reports of Hurling being played in the area during the early part of the 20th century.

The North Kerry Senior Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition for GAA clubs affiliated to the North Kerry Football Board, a division of Kerry GAA. The official name of the competition became The Bernard O'Callaghan Memorial North Kerry Senior Football Championship in 2000, in honour of the late Bernie O'Callaghan (Beale) who was Chairman of the North Kerry GAA Board for 25 years and did a huge amount of work for North Kerry football.

The Championship runs from October to December each year but has on occasion continued into the New Year due to replays and postponements. It is currently sponsored by McMunn's Bar and Restaurant, Ballybunion.The current (2023) holders of the cup are Ballydonoughue who defeated St. Senan's, winning the competition for the 10th time in the club’s history.

Templenoe GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Templenoe in County Kerry, Ireland. The club competes as a joint divisional side with other clubs from the Kenmare area like Tuosist GAA in the county championship and as an individual club in other competitions. Hurling was by far the stronger of the two codes until the 1920s. However, since then Gaelic football has taken pride of place and hurling is no longer played in the club. The club was founded in 1933 but did not affiliate to the GAA until 1938.

Éamonn O'Donoghue was an Irish former sportsperson. In 1983, shortly after his death, Castleisland Desmonds and Ballylongford jointly presented a Cup in his honour to the North Kerry Football Board to be presented to the winners of the North Kerry Senior Football Championship each year.

Paddy Kelly is a footballer from County Kerry. He won an All-Ireland Medal with Kerry in 2004, and also won a Munster Minor Championship in 2001. He played club football with a number of different clubs, specifically Ballylongford, John Mitchels and Listowel Emmets.

Kieran Culhane was a Gaelic footballer from County Kerry. He played with the Kerry senior team in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He won a Munster Championship medal at full back in 1991.

All teams represent the parish of Ballydonoghue which contains the village of Lisselton. The club's home ground is Denis Dowling Park, Coolard.
