Laune Rangers is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in town of Killorglin, County Kerry, Ireland. The club is affiliated to Kerry GAA. Rangers won the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 1996.

History

The club was formed in 1888 by two teachers. The newly formed club won the Kerry County Championship of 1889 and 1890. In 1890, after again winning the County Championship, Rangers represented Kerry in the All-Ireland series. They defeated Clondrohid 3-6 to 0-5 and won the Munster final but lost the All-Ireland Final. The first recorded match the club played was against John Mitchels in 1888. The club's finest hour came when they won the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 1996 beating Éire Óg of Carlow in the final.

Famous players have included Mike & Liam Hassett, Peter Crowley and Mike Frank Russell, all of whom have won All-Ireland Senior Football Championship titles with the Kerry county team.

Liam Hassett is an Irish Gaelic footballer who has played for Laune Rangers and Dublin side St Anne's, and played at senior level for the Kerry county team between 1995 and 2005. Hassett captained Kerry to the All-Ireland SFC title in 1997. He won All-Ireland Under 21 Medals in 1995 and 1996 as captain. He also won an All-Ireland Club Championship with Laune Rangers in 1996.

Tralee Mitchels were a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland before the formation of the three Tralee clubs namely John Mitchels, Austin Stacks and Kerins O'Rahilly's. They were one of the top teams in the county winning Football County Championships in 1896, 1897, 1902, 1903, 1907, 1908, 1910, 1917 and 1919. They also won three Hurling County Championship in 1908, 1911, 1912

Pa O'Sullivan was a Gaelic footballer from Killorglin, County Kerry. He played with Kerry at all levels during the 1990s. He was described as a 'star' and a 'teen sensation' for Kerry during the 90's.

Peter Crowley is an Irish sportsperson. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Laune Rangers. Crowley was a member of the Kerry county football team at senior level between 2012 and 2021, and was on the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning team. He retired from inter-county football in April 2021.

Mid Kerry GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling division in County Kerry, Ireland. This division is situated in the middle region of the county, and includes towns such as Killorglin and Milltown. It is one of ten divisions of Kerry County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. In addition, the division selects football teams from the adult teams playing at intermediate or junior level, and these then compete for the Kerry Senior Football Championship.
